Episode 8: Red Coins of the Lake

Welcome to Episode 8! This challenge requires you to collect 8 Red Coins scattered around the lake area. Unlike previous episodes, there's no immediate boss or major objective beyond finding these elusive coins. The key here is exploration and clever use of FLUDD.

Preparation

Ensure you have the Hover Nozzle equipped. While not strictly mandatory for all coins, it makes traversal significantly easier and safer.
Consider having a few extra lives if you're prone to falling into the polluted water.

Red Coin Locations & Strategies

The Red Coins are generally found in pairs or small clusters, often requiring specific maneuvers to reach. Here's a breakdown of their locations:

First Pair (Near the Starting Platform):
- From where you begin the episode, look directly across the polluted lake towards the large, central island.
- You'll spot two Red Coins hovering above the water, just off the edge of the island.
- Strategy: Perform a series of well-timed Hover Nozzle jumps from the starting platform, aiming for the first coin. Collect it, then immediately adjust your trajectory with another hover to grab the second. Be careful not to fall into the muck!
Second Pair (Floating Platforms):
- Head towards the cluster of small, wooden floating platforms that are slowly rotating in the lake.
- Two Red Coins are positioned above these platforms.
- Strategy: Carefully jump from platform to platform. Use the Hover Nozzle to extend your jumps and correct your landings. One coin is usually above a single platform, while the other might require a slightly longer jump between two.
Third Pair (Under the Bridge):
- Locate the large, arched stone bridge that spans a section of the lake.
- Two Red Coins are hidden underneath the central arch of this bridge, close to the water's surface.
- Strategy: This can be tricky. You can either approach from the side of the bridge and perform a precise dive or jump into the water and quickly swim to them before the pollution damages you too much. A more advanced technique involves a well-placed ground pound from the bridge's top, followed by a quick hover to grab them.
Final Pair (High Ledge):
- Look for a tall, rocky ledge or cliff face on the far side of the lake, opposite your starting point.
- Two Red Coins are perched atop a narrow section of this ledge.
- Strategy: This requires some platforming. Find a path up the side of the cliff, often involving wall jumps or careful Hover Nozzle ascents. Once you're on the ledge, navigate carefully to collect both coins. Watch out for any Manta Rays or other enemies that might be patrolling the area.

After Collecting All Coins

Once you've successfully gathered all 8 Red Coins, the Shine Sprite will appear in a central, easily accessible location, usually above the main island or a prominent platform. Simply jump or hover to collect your hard-earned Shine!
