Location: Yoshi's Island Castle
Iggy Koopa is the first Koopaling you'll face, serving as an introduction to boss battles. His fight takes place on a tilting platform above a lava pit.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Tilting Platform: Iggy will run back and forth on a large, tilting platform. Your goal is to stomp on his head. Each stomp will cause him to retreat into his shell and slide towards one end of the platform.
- Phase 2: Pushing Iggy: After stomping him, quickly run to the opposite side of the platform from where Iggy is sliding. The platform will tilt, pushing Iggy towards the lava.
- Repeat: You need to stomp Iggy three times to defeat him. After each successful push into the lava, he will jump back onto the platform, and the process repeats.
Recommended Power-Up:
- Super Mushroom: While not strictly necessary, having Super Mario status gives you an extra hit point, which is always helpful.
- Cape Feather: Can be useful for precise jumps, but not essential.
Weakness:
Stomping on his head and using the tilting platform to push him into the lava.
Rewards:
Access to Vanilla Dome.
Tip: Pay attention to the platform's tilt. If you're on the same side as Iggy when he's sliding, you might get pushed into the lava yourself. Always position yourself on the opposite side to ensure he slides off.
