Master Hand is the iconic final boss of Classic Mode at lower intensities (5.9 or below). He is a giant, disembodied hand with several powerful attacks. His weak point is his palm, which becomes vulnerable after certain attacks.
Attack Patterns & Strategies
- Finger Walk: Master Hand walks across the stage on his fingers. Stay out of his path and attack his fingers if you can.
- Ground Slam: Master Hand slams his palm onto the stage. Dodge this, and his palm will be vulnerable for a short time. This is your primary opening for smash attacks.
- Finger Laser: He fires lasers from his fingertips. Move quickly to avoid the beams.
- Grab: Master Hand attempts to grab you. If caught, mash buttons to escape quickly to minimize damage.
- Flick: He flicks you away with a powerful swipe. Shield or dodge.
- Drill: He spins his fingers like a drill. Stay clear of this attack.
- Pistol Shot: He forms a pistol with his fingers and fires a projectile.
- Clap: He claps his hands together. Avoid being caught between them.
General Strategy
The key to defeating Master Hand is patience and precision. Wait for his openings, primarily after his Ground Slam, and unleash fully charged smash attacks on his palm. Characters with good vertical recovery are advantageous, as he often tries to launch you upwards. Avoid getting greedy with attacks; prioritize dodging and surviving. Keep your damage percentage low, as his attacks become more dangerous as your percentage rises.
