Defensive & Recovery Items
  • Heart Container: Heals a significant amount of damage (100%). Crucial for survival in modes like All-Star.
  • Maxim Tomato: Heals a moderate amount of damage (50%).
  • Super Mushroom: Makes your character temporarily giant, increasing their attack power and weight, making them harder to launch.
  • Poison Mushroom: Makes your character temporarily tiny, making them harder to hit but also weaker. Avoid this!
  • Starman (Invincibility Star): Grants temporary invincibility, allowing you to attack without fear of taking damage or being launched.
  • Warp Star: Launches you high into the air, then crashes down for a powerful attack. Also provides temporary invincibility during the ascent.
  • Super Leaf: Gives your character a Tanooki Tail, allowing for multiple jumps and a slow descent. Excellent for recovery.
  • Launch Star: Launches you in a chosen direction, often used for recovery or quickly traversing the stage.
  • Spring: A bouncy platform that can be used for recovery or to launch opponents.
  • Pitfall: Buries opponents who step on it, leaving them vulnerable. Can also be used to recover if you fall into it and jump out.
  • Smoke Ball: Creates a cloud of smoke, obscuring vision and making it harder to track characters.
  • Fairy Bottle: If you are KO'd while holding this, you will be revived with 100% damage. A one-time use item.
  • Food: Small items that heal a tiny amount of damage.

Knowing when to grab and use these items can be the difference between victory and defeat. Prioritize healing items when at high damage, and use invincibility or recovery items to escape dangerous situations.
