Characters in All-Star Mode are grouped into rounds based on their debut game's release year. For example, the first round might feature characters from the 1980s (e.g., Mario, Link, Samus), while later rounds will include more recent additions. Each round typically consists of 2-4 characters, which you'll face simultaneously or in quick succession.

  • Prioritize Threats: In multi-character battles, identify and focus on the most dangerous opponents first. Characters with strong projectiles or recovery can be particularly annoying.
  • Stage Control: Utilize the stage layout to your advantage. Lure opponents into hazards or off-stage for easy KOs.
  • Conserve Damage: Your primary goal is to take as little damage as possible. Avoid unnecessary risks and prioritize defensive play.
  • Healing Items: Between rounds, you'll enter a rest area where you can use Heart Containers to heal. Use them wisely! Don't waste a Heart Container if you've only taken minimal damage. Save them for when you're at high percentages.

Successfully completing All-Star Mode unlocks trophies and can contribute to unlocking certain custom moves. It's a true test of your overall Smash Bros. skill and character knowledge.
