The goal of Target Blast! is to launch a bomb, then hit it repeatedly to send it flying into a structure of targets, causing chain reactions and maximizing your score. Here's how to achieve high scores:
- Initial Launch: Your first hit on the bomb is crucial. Use a powerful smash attack (fully charged) to send it flying with maximum force. Aim for the center of the target structure.
- Follow-Up Hits: After the initial launch, the bomb will bounce around. You have a limited time to hit it again. Use quick, strong attacks (like aerials or tilts) to keep it in play and direct it towards clusters of targets or explosive barrels.
- Explosive Barrels: These red barrels are your best friends. Hitting them causes a large explosion, destroying many surrounding targets and significantly boosting your score. Prioritize hitting these.
- Timing the Explosion: The bomb itself will explode after a set amount of time. Try to time this explosion to occur when it's deep within the target structure, ideally near multiple explosive barrels, for maximum damage.
- Character Choice: Characters with strong, fast smash attacks and good aerial mobility (for follow-up hits) excel in Target Blast! Experiment with different characters to find your best fit.
There are two versions of Target Blast!: Small and Large. The Large version offers more targets and greater scoring potential. Practice is key to mastering the timing and aiming required for top scores.
