How to Beat Tidal Serpent

Defeat the fast Tidal Serpent in Sword of the Sea. Learn its water-based attacks and use Hydro-Boost to survive sonic bursts and tail whips.

The Tidal Serpent is the guardian of the Shrine of the Tide in the Sunken City. This aquatic boss is fast and attacks with powerful water-based abilities. Phases:

  • Phase 1: Tail Whips & Sonic Bursts: The Serpent will rapidly swim around, performing powerful tail whips and firing sonic bursts. Maintain constant movement with Hydro-Boost.
  • Phase 2: Whirlpool & Head Crest: It will occasionally coil up, creating a large whirlpool. During this, its head crest will glow intensely, indicating vulnerability.
Weakness: Its glowing head crest during its whirlpool attack. Strategy: Utilize your Hydro-Boost to continuously dodge its attacks. When it coils for the whirlpool, boost directly towards its glowing head crest and unleash basic attacks. You can also use Hydro-Blast (R1/RB) for ranged damage if you can't get close enough. Retreat as the whirlpool expands. Rewards: Water Relic, Spirit Shards.
