This section details the most common status effects, how to identify them, and crucially, how to mitigate or exploit them.
Beneficial Status Effects
These boons can turn the tide of battle or make exploration significantly easier. Always aim to maintain these when possible.
- Swift Current:
- Effect: Increases your board's top speed by 25% and reduces stamina drain from boosting by 15%. Indicated by swirling blue lines around your board.
- Duration: 30 seconds.
- How to Obtain:
- Wind Chimes: Activating a Wind Chime (found commonly in the Whispering Dunes and the Sky-Shattered Peaks) grants Swift Current for a short duration.
- "Zephyr's Kiss" Relic: Equipping this rare relic, found in a hidden chamber within the Sunken Citadel's lower levels (requires the "Ancient Key" from the Serpent's Coil boss), provides a permanent, albeit weaker, Swift Current effect (10% speed increase, 5% stamina reduction).
- Elixir of the Gale: Crafted at any Alchemist's Bench using 3x Desert Bloom and 1x Cloudpetal. Instantly grants Swift Current for 60 seconds.
- Stone Skin:
- Effect: Reduces all incoming damage by 30% and grants immunity to knockback. Your character will glow with a faint, earthy aura.

Detrimental Status Effects

- Sand Blight:
- Effect: Gradually drains your stamina over time and reduces your maximum stamina by 20% for the duration. Your screen will have a hazy, orange tint.
- Duration: 45 seconds.
- How to Contract:
- Sandstorm Zones: Entering areas affected by active sandstorms (prevalent in the Western Reaches of the Whispering Dunes).
- Desert Scorpions: Attacks from Desert Scorpions (found throughout the Whispering Dunes) have a chance to inflict Sand Blight.
- How to Cure:
- Freshwater Flask: Consuming a Freshwater Flask (found in oasis chests or crafted with 1x Dewdrop at a Campfire) instantly removes Sand Blight.
- "Oasis Charm" Relic: A rare drop from the Oasis Guardian mini-boss in the Verdant Oasis. Grants immunity to Sand Blight.
- Corrosion:
- Effect: Deals continuous damage over time to your health and reduces your armor rating by 15%. Your character will appear to be slowly dissolving with green particles.
- Duration: 25 seconds.
- How to Contract:
- Acidic Pools: Stepping into acidic pools in the Sunken Citadel's lower levels.
- Corrosive Slimes: Attacks from Corrosive Slimes (common in the Sunken Citadel) inflict Corrosion.

- Dazed:
