Beyond the main quest, Sword of the Sea offers various collectibles and achievements to pursue. These include secret shells, frogs, and fish tiles, each requiring keen observation and skillful movement to locate and acquire.
Collectibles
- Secret Shells: These are very well hidden and require thorough exploration of every nook and cranny.
- Frogs: The hardest collectibles to find, often located at the bottom of canyons or on very high peaks.
- Fish Tiles: Often found on top of high obstacles and statues. Drop onto them to release Tetra.
Forbidden Valley Activities
- Forbidden Valley Shell Collector Achievement: Find all secret shells in the Forbidden Valley.
- Activating Blue Crystals: In an area with three large blue crystal spots:
- Hop up to the left of the turtlehead gate, past the first blue crystal, to reach lanterns in the sand.
- From these lanterns, take a right around the corner and hop up ledges to another area with lanterns. Activate them.
- Use jellyfish to jump over a gap to find a secret shell.
- Cross over the jellyfish to the second blue crystal.
- From the second blue crystal, take a left and hop up ledges to the final blue crystal. This activates all three turtleheads and creates a stream of water.
Sacred River Activities
- Secret Shell Locations:
- After gliding past the first set of hanging lanterns with Water Rail, go to the corner with a boulder and turn around. Use Water Rail to glide onto shark statues and to the back wall with a dolphin statue holding a vase. Find the shell on the ledge around the middle of the statue, on the right side.
- After activating all three lantern patches and the geyser spot in the area with boats, use jellyfish to jump to the top of the tall rock in the center. Turn to face the cliffside, boost, and use Water Rail to reach a boat built into the cliff. Jump into the little cave to find another shell.
- Stele Locations:
- The Minder's Wisdom: After activating the hanging lanterns with Water Rail, go through the unlocked gate. The stele is at the far end.
- The Tower: After dropping down from the ledge into the area with all the boats, take a left and go out on the walkway extending off the edge to find this stele.
