Trophies & Achievements
Welcome, aspiring Renan and Dahnan heroes! This comprehensive guide will help you unlock every Trophy and Achievement in Tales of Arise, guiding you through specific steps, locations, and strategies. While many will come naturally through story progression, some require dedicated effort and exploration. Let's dive in!
Story Progression Trophies
These trophies are earned simply by advancing through the main narrative. You cannot miss them, so enjoy the journey!
- Liberator of Calaglia: Defeat Lord Balseph in the Igila Wastes.
- Liberator of Cyslodia: Overthrow Lord Ganabelt in Cysloden.
- Liberator of Elde Menancia: Triumph over Lord Dohalim in Viscint.
- Liberator of Mahag Saar: Defeat Lord Almeidrea in Pelegion.
- Liberator of Ganath Haros: Conquer Lord Vholran in Del Fharis Castle.
- The Truth: Complete the main story.
Exploration & Collection Trophies
These achievements reward thorough exploration and dedication to collecting various in-game elements.
Curious Collector
To earn the Curious Collector trophy, you must find and open 100 treasure chests. This will likely come naturally as you explore every nook and cranny of each region. Always check dead ends, behind structures, and elevated areas. Remember to revisit areas after acquiring new movement abilities (like the Boost Attack that breaks obstacles) to access previously unreachable chests.
Sub-Quest Enthusiast
The Sub-Quest Enthusiast trophy requires you to complete 40 sub-quests. Sub-quests are marked on your map with a scroll icon. They often involve fetching items, defeating specific monsters, or helping NPCs. Prioritize accepting all available sub-quests in each town and outpost you visit. Many sub-quests become available after story progression, so check back frequently. A good strategy is to complete all available sub-quests before moving to a new region's main story objective.
Owl Spotter
To unlock the Owl Spotter trophy, you need to find all 38 Owlets hidden across Dahna. Each Owlet you find will reward you with an attachment. Here's a general approach:
- Calaglia: Look in Mosgul, Ulzebek, and the Iglia Wastes. One is often found on a high ledge overlooking Ulzebek.
- Cyslodia: Check Messia 224, Cysloden, and the Frozen Valley. One is notoriously hidden near the entrance to the Riville Prison Tower.
- Elde Menancia: Explore Traslida Highway, Viscint, and the Autelina Palace. Don't forget the hidden paths in the Tietal Plain.
- Mahag Saar: Search Niez, Pelegion, and the Aqfotle Hills. One is often found on a rooftop in Pelegion.
- Ganath Haros: Investigate Thistlym, Lenegis, and the Tuah Beach. A particularly tricky one is often found near the docks in Thistlym.
- The Owl Forest: After finding a significant number of Owlets, you'll gain access to the Owl Forest via a sub-quest. This area contains the final few Owlets and is crucial for the trophy.
Pay close attention to the distinct "hoot" sound when an Owlet is nearby. They often blend into the environment, so a keen eye is essential.
Combat & Character Trophies
These trophies focus on your prowess in battle and the development of your party members.
Skilled Angler
The Skilled Angler trophy is awarded for catching your first fish. Fishing spots are marked on your map with a fish icon. Simply interact with a fishing spot, select your lure (start with the Worm), and follow the on-screen prompts to reel in a fish. Different lures attract different fish, and some fishing spots have rarer catches. You'll need to catch several fish for other potential sub-quests, so get comfortable with the mini-game early on.
Novice Rancher
To become a Novice Rancher, you need to complete your first ranching task. Ranching becomes available after a certain point in the story, usually after reaching Elde Menancia. Speak to the Rancher NPC in Traslida Highway to begin. You'll be tasked with raising livestock and collecting resources. Simply follow the tutorial and complete one cycle to earn this trophy.
Master Chef
The Master Chef trophy requires you to cook your first dish. Cooking is a fundamental mechanic in Tales of Arise. After resting at a campsite or inn, select the "Cook" option. Choose any recipe you have learned and ensure you have the necessary ingredients. Even the simplest recipe, like "Rice Omelet" (requiring Egg and Rice), will suffice. Ingredients can be found through exploration, enemy drops, or purchased from merchants.
Weapon Crafter
To earn the Weapon Crafter trophy, you must forge your first weapon. Visit a blacksmith in any major town (e.g., Ulzebek, Cysloden, Viscint). Select the "Forge" option, choose a character, and then select any weapon you have the materials and Gald for. Early weapons are inexpensive and require common materials like "Iron Scrap" or "Stone Fragment," which are dropped by basic enemies in Calaglia.
Accessory Artisan
The Accessory Artisan trophy is obtained by crafting your first accessory. Similar to weapon crafting, visit a blacksmith and choose the "Craft Accessory" option. Early accessories like the "Stamina Ring" (requiring "Titanium Ore" and "Astral Flower") are simple to craft and provide minor stat boosts. Materials for these can be found in the early regions of the game.
First Strike
The First Strike trophy is awarded for initiating a battle with a "Strike Attack." To perform a Strike Attack, approach an enemy on the field and press the designated attack button (usually Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox) before they notice you or engage you in combat. A successful Strike Attack will give you an advantage at the start of the battle.
Boost Attack Expert
To earn the Boost Attack Expert trophy, you need to perform 100 Boost Attacks. Boost Attacks are character-specific special moves triggered by pressing the D-pad buttons during combat. Each character's Boost Attack has a unique effect (e.g., Alphen's breaks rock shields, Shionne's targets flying enemies). Use them frequently to interrupt enemy attacks and exploit weaknesses. This trophy will come naturally through regular gameplay.
Boost Strike Expert
The Boost Strike Expert trophy requires you to perform 100 Boost Strikes. Boost Strikes are powerful finishing moves that occur when an enemy's "Boost Strike Gauge" is full. When prompted, press the indicated button combination to execute a cinematic attack with two party members. Focus on breaking enemy defenses and exploiting elemental weaknesses to fill this gauge faster. This is another trophy that will accumulate over time.
Chain Striker
To achieve the Chain Striker trophy, you must achieve a chain of 100 hits in a single combo. This can be challenging but is easily done against larger, slower enemies or bosses. Focus on using fast-hitting Artes, especially those with multiple hits per activation. Characters like Rinwell and Law are excellent for building hit counts. Consider equipping accessories that increase hit count or reduce Arte cast time. A good strategy is to use a character with a high hit count Arte and continuously spam it while other party members keep the enemy distracted or staggered.
Diligent Cultivator
The Diligent Cultivator trophy is earned by reaching max proficiency with a character's skill panel. Each character has multiple skill panels that unlock new Artes, passive abilities, and stat boosts. To maximize a panel, you need to spend all available SP (Skill Points) on it. SP is earned through combat. Focus on one character and one skill panel at a time, prioritizing the cheapest skills first to quickly fill a panel. This trophy can be achieved relatively early in the game for one of your main party members.
Ultimate Warrior
The Ultimate Warrior trophy is awarded for reaching level 100 with any character. This is a significant grind but can be made easier by using EXP-boosting food recipes (like the "Sashimi" or "Mabo Curry" recipes) and equipping accessories that increase EXP gain. The final dungeons and post-game content offer the best opportunities for high EXP farming. Consider playing on a lower difficulty if your primary goal is to level up quickly.
Miscellaneous Trophies
These trophies don't fit neatly into other categories but are still essential for 100% completion.
Peacemaker
The Peacemaker trophy is awarded for viewing your first Skit. Skits are optional conversations between party members that pop up periodically as you explore, fight, and progress the story. They are indicated by a small speech bubble icon in the bottom left of your screen. Press the indicated button to view them. You'll likely view many more than one naturally.
Master of the Hunt
The Master of the Hunt trophy requires you to defeat 20 unique types of Gigants. Gigants are powerful, oversized enemies found in specific locations across Dahna. They are often marked on your map with a skull icon. They present a significant challenge, so ensure your party is well-equipped and adequately leveled before engaging. Many Gigants are tied to sub-quests, so completing those will naturally contribute to this trophy.
Good luck, and may your journey through Dahna be filled with triumph and discovery!
