Dhaos is the main antagonist and the final boss of Tales of Phantasia. This is a multi-phase battle that will test all your skills and resources. Dhaos is a powerful magic user with high physical defense and a wide array of devastating spells.
Strategy:
- Party Setup: Cress (main damage), Mint (healing), Arche (magic damage), Claus (summon damage).
- Weakness: Dhaos has no specific elemental weakness, but he is vulnerable to physical attacks and powerful summons.
- Cress: Equip your strongest weapon (e.g., Eternal Sword). Use your most powerful combo Artes like 'Omega Tempest' or 'Tiger Blade' + 'Phoenix'. Focus on consistent damage.
- Mint: Your top priority is keeping the party alive. Spam 'Nurse' and 'Heal' as needed. Have plenty of Lemon Gels and Miracle Gels for emergencies.
- Arche: Use her most powerful non-elemental spells like 'Tractor Beam' or 'Meteor Swarm'. If you have 'Indignation', it can also deal significant damage. Keep her TP high.
- Claus: Unleash your most powerful summons, especially Aska & Luna if you have them. Gnome and Efreet can also contribute. Be mindful of his TP.
- Tactics: Dhaos has multiple forms. In his first form, he's primarily a magic user. Try to interrupt his spellcasting with Cress. In later forms, he becomes more physically aggressive. Use 'Holy Bottles' if you want to reduce random encounters in the castle to save resources for Dhaos. This is a long battle, so resource management is key. Don't be afraid to use Elixirs if a character is in dire straits. Focus fire on Dhaos, ignoring any minor summons he might create.
