Claus is a powerful summoner who joins your party later in the game. He specializes in contracting with and summoning elemental spirits to unleash devastating attacks. Claus's key stats are Intelligence (for summon power) and Mind (for magic defense). He uses books as his weapons, which often boost his magical stats. His summons are incredibly powerful but consume a significant amount of TP.
Recommended Summons:
- Gnome: Earth-elemental attack, good for ground enemies.
- Efreet: Fire-elemental attack, strong against ice enemies.
- Undine: Water-elemental attack, strong against fire enemies.
- Sylph: Wind-elemental attack, good for flying enemies.
- Volt: Lightning-elemental attack, strong against metal enemies.
- Shadow: Dark-elemental attack.
- Aska & Luna: Light-elemental attack, often the strongest summon.
Build Strategy: Prioritize equipping Claus with books that boost his Intelligence and accessories that increase his TP or reduce TP consumption. He should wear light armor that offers magic defense. His role is to unleash powerful summons to clear groups of enemies or deal massive damage to bosses, especially when exploiting elemental weaknesses. Keep his TP high with Orange Gels, as his summons are very costly. Learning all available summons is his primary progression.
