The Coliseum, typically found in the city of Venezia or Alvanista, offers a series of optional combat challenges. These challenges pit Cress (and sometimes other party members) against a series of increasingly difficult opponents in one-on-one or small-group battles. Participating in the Coliseum is an excellent way to test your combat skills, earn valuable Gald, and acquire unique and powerful equipment that cannot be found elsewhere.
Challenges & Rewards:
- Beginner Rank: Relatively easy opponents, good for early-game practice and minor rewards.
- Intermediate Rank: Stronger foes, offering better Gald and potentially some mid-tier equipment.
- Advanced Rank: Very challenging opponents, including unique monsters and even past bosses. The rewards here are often some of the best weapons and armor in the game, such as the 'Vorpal Sword' or 'Mithril Plate'.
- Special Ranks: Some versions of the game might have secret or special ranks that unlock after completing certain conditions, offering ultimate rewards.
Before entering the Coliseum, ensure Cress is fully healed, has full TP, and is equipped with his best gear. Stock up on Apple and Orange Gels, as you won't have Mint's healing during solo challenges. The Coliseum is a great way to hone your individual character's combat prowess and acquire top-tier gear before facing Dhaos.
