Thoda Geyser: The Seal of Water

Welcome to Thoda Geyser, the next stop on your journey to restore mana to Sylvarant! This area is crucial for obtaining the Seal of Water. Be prepared for some puzzle-solving and a boss battle. We recommend your party be around Level 15-17 for a smooth experience.

Arrival and Initial Exploration

  1. Upon entering Thoda Geyser, head straight forward. You'll encounter a cutscene involving a familiar face.
  2. After the scene, proceed to the right. You'll find a small path leading to a chest containing a Life Bottle.
  3. Continue along the main path. You'll notice geysers erupting periodically. These are key to navigating the dungeon.
  4. Head left from the entrance area, past the first geyser. You'll see a chest tucked away in an alcove containing an Apple Gel.

The Geyser Puzzle

The main challenge of Thoda Geyser involves manipulating the geysers to reach new areas. You'll need to use the Sorcerer's Ring to activate or deactivate them.

  1. First Geyser:
    • Approach the first large geyser you see.
    • Use the Sorcerer's Ring on the small, unlit pillar next to it. This will activate the geyser, allowing you to cross.
    • Cross the geyser when it's active. On the other side, you'll find a chest with a Panacea Bottle.
    • Deactivate the geyser again by using the Sorcerer's Ring on the pillar.
  2. Second Geyser:
    • Head further into the dungeon. You'll come across another geyser blocking your path.
    • Activate this geyser using the Sorcerer's Ring.
    • Cross to the other side. Here, you'll find a chest containing a Melange Gel.
    • Deactivate the geyser.
  3. Navigating the Central Platform:
    • You'll reach a central platform with multiple geysers surrounding it.
    • Your goal is to reach the platform in the very center.
    • Look for the geyser that, when activated, creates a path to the central platform. This often involves activating one geyser and then quickly moving to another to create a bridge.
    • Once on the central platform, you'll find a chest containing a Stun Bracelet. This accessory can be useful for your melee characters.

Reaching the Seal

  1. From the central platform, identify the path that leads deeper into the geyser. You'll need to activate a specific geyser to create a bridge.
  2. Follow this path, navigating any remaining geysers by activating and deactivating them as needed.
  3. You'll eventually arrive at a large, open area with a glowing pedestal. This is the Seal of Water.
  4. Before approaching the seal, make sure your party is healed and ready for a boss battle.

Boss Battle: Adaman

As you approach the Seal of Water, you will be challenged by the Guardian of the Seal, Adaman.

  • Recommended Party: Lloyd, Kratos, Colette, Raine.
  • Strategy:
    • Adaman is a large, slow-moving enemy. He hits hard, so focus on keeping your party's HP up.
    • He is weak to Lightning-elemental attacks. If you have any Lightning spells (like Spark Wave from Genis, if he's in your party), use them liberally.
    • Adaman has a strong physical defense. Use Lloyd and Kratos to deal consistent damage, but prioritize dodging his slow, powerful swings.
    • Colette's Angel Feathers can be effective, and her Item Getter skill can be useful if you're running low on supplies.
    • Raine should be dedicated to healing and casting support spells like Barrier or Sharpness. Keep her away from Adaman's direct attacks.
    • Watch out for his "Ground Dasher" attack, which creates a shockwave. It's telegraphed, so try to block or move out of the way.
    • Consider equipping accessories that boost defense or elemental resistance if you're struggling.
  • Rewards: After defeating Adaman, you'll receive a significant amount of EXP and Gald, along with the Aqua Cape, a useful piece of armor.

After the Battle

  1. Once Adaman is defeated, approach the glowing pedestal to activate the Seal of Water.
  2. A cutscene will play, and the Seal will be released.
  3. With the Seal of Water secured, you can now exit Thoda Geyser. You can either backtrack through the dungeon or use a Magic Lens on the save point near the Seal to teleport out if you have the required item.
