Quoi Woods
Upon entering Quoi Woods from Deidon Hold, you'll immediately be greeted by a fork in the path. This forest is your first real taste of exploration outside of urban areas, so take your time to gather resources and familiarize yourself with the environment.
Exploration and Item Collection
Your primary goal in Quoi Woods is to traverse it to reach the town of Halure. However, don't rush through; there are valuable items to collect.
- Initial Path: Head straight from the entrance. You'll soon encounter a small clearing.
- Left Path: Take the left fork. Follow this winding path to find a treasure chest containing a Life Bottle. This item is crucial for reviving fallen allies in battle, so it's a must-grab.
- Right Path: Return to the initial fork and now take the right path. Stick to the right wall as you proceed.
- Hidden Chest: Along the right path, keep an eye out for a slightly obscured area or a dead-end branch. Here, you'll discover another treasure chest holding a Panacea Bottle. This item cures all status ailments, which can be very useful against some of the forest's more annoying enemies.
- Exit: Continue along the main right path. It will eventually lead you to the exit of Quoi Woods, which opens up to the world map and the path to Halure.
Enemies and Combat Tips
Quoi Woods introduces a few new enemy types that will challenge you more than the previous encounters in Zaphias or Deidon Hold. Be prepared for:
- Goblin: These are standard melee attackers. They can be aggressive, so block their attacks and counter with combos.
- Wolf: Wolves are fast and can sometimes inflict minor status effects. Focus them down quickly.
- Bat: Flying enemies can be tricky for Yuri early on. Use rising artes like Azure Edge or Severing Fang to hit them in the air.
General Combat Strategy:
- Utilize Artes: use Yuri's artes. Azure Edge is excellent for ranged damage and hitting flying enemies, while Severing Fang and Crushing Eagle are good for close-quarters combat.
- Guard Frequently: Enemies here hit harder. Guarding is essential to mitigate damage and create openings for your attacks.
- Over Limit: If you find yourself overwhelmed, consider using your Over Limit. It grants temporary invincibility and allows for extended combos.
- Heal as Needed: Use your Apple Gels and the recently acquired Life Bottle if your HP drops too low or an ally is knocked out.
Before exiting, ensure you've explored all corners to maximize your item haul. The experience gained from fighting the local fauna will also be beneficial for the upcoming challenges.
