Shaikos Ruins

Welcome to the Shaikos Ruins! This ancient structure holds both danger and valuable treasures. Be prepared for some challenging encounters and keep an eye out for hidden items.

Entrance Area

  • Upon entering, head directly north. You'll spot a chest containing a Life Bottle.
  • Continue along the path. You'll encounter several enemies here, including the formidable Gigas. These large foes hit hard, so focus your attacks and use Artes to break their guard.
  • As you proceed, you'll find another chest to the east, which holds a Magic Lens.
  • Before moving deeper, take a moment to explore the small alcoves. There's a chest tucked away in the northwest corner of this initial area containing 200 Gald.

Central Chamber

The path will lead you into a larger, more open central chamber. This area is a bit of a maze, so pay attention to your surroundings.

  • From the entrance to this chamber, head west. You'll soon come across a chest containing a Panacea Bottle. This item is crucial for curing status ailments.
  • Next, navigate towards the northeast section of this chamber. There's a hidden path that leads to a chest with a Scarf. Equip this accessory to boost your defense.
  • The main objective in this chamber is to activate a mechanism. Look for a glowing switch on the eastern wall. Interacting with it will open a new path to the north.

Northern Passageway & Boss Prep

The newly opened path leads to the final section of the ruins. This is where you'll face the area's boss, so ensure your party is ready.

  • Follow the northern passageway. Along the way, you'll find a chest containing a Limit Bottle. This is an excellent item to save for the upcoming boss fight.
  • Just before the boss arena, there's a save point. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE! This is your last chance to prepare.
  • Consider using any accumulated Gald to purchase new equipment or items if you haven't recently. Ensure your party members have their best gear equipped.
  • Stock up on Apple Gels and Orange Gels. The boss can deal significant damage and drain TP quickly.

Boss Battle: Goliath

The ancient guardian of the Shaikos Ruins, Goliath, awaits. This battle can be tough if you're not prepared.

  • Strategy: Goliath is a large, slow-moving enemy, but its attacks pack a serious punch.
    • Exploit Weaknesses: Goliath is weak to Wind and Light elemental attacks. If you have Artes or weapons with these properties, prioritize them.
    • Focus on Over Limit: Build up your Over Limit gauge. Activating Over Limit allows you to chain Artes without interruption and deal massive damage. Use a Limit Bottle if needed.
    • Guard and Dodge: Goliath's attacks are telegraphed. Watch for its wind-up animations and either guard or dodge out of the way. Its ground pound attack can stun your party.
    • Heal Consistently: Keep an eye on your party's HP. Use Apple Gels or healing Artes as soon as HP drops significantly.
    • Target the Core: While you can hit any part of Goliath, focusing on its central core can sometimes lead to more consistent damage.
  • Rewards: Upon defeating Goliath, you'll receive experience, Gald, and the Amulet accessory, which boosts your resistance to status effects.
