Ghasfarost
Welcome to Ghasfarost, a formidable fortress that will test your party's resolve. This section will guide you through its treacherous halls, ensuring you collect every valuable item and overcome every challenge.
First Floor: Entry and Initial Exploration
Upon entering Ghasfarost, you'll find yourself in a large, circular chamber. Your immediate goal is to locate the blastia switch that controls the main gate.
- Head straight from the entrance to find a chest containing a Life Bottle.
- Proceed to the right and follow the path. You'll encounter a chest with 2000 Gald.
- Continue along this path until you reach a dead end. Examine the wall here to discover a hidden passage.
- Inside the hidden passage, you'll find the blastia switch. Activate it to open the main gate.
- Return to the main circular chamber and pass through the now-open gate.
Second Floor: Blastia Control and Security
The second floor introduces more complex puzzles and stronger enemies. Be prepared for multiple encounters.
- After ascending to the second floor, take the first path to your right.
- You'll find a chest containing a Specific.
- Continue along this path, battling any enemies in your way, until you reach a room with a central console.
- Examine the console to learn about the security system. You'll need to disable it to proceed.
- From the console room, take the exit to the north. This leads to a long corridor.
- Midway down the corridor, look for a side room to your left. Inside, you'll find a chest with a Limit Bottle.
- Continue to the end of the corridor and enter the next large room.
- In this room, you'll find another blastia switch. Activating it will disable a portion of the fortress's security.
- Return to the console room. You'll notice a new path has opened to the west.
Third Floor: Prison Block and Key Acquisition
The third floor is primarily a prison block, but it also holds a crucial item for your progression.
- Head through the newly opened western path from the second-floor console room.
- Ascend to the third floor. You'll immediately notice several prison cells.
- Explore the cells. In one of them, you'll find a chest containing a Panacea Bottle.
- Continue through the prison block until you reach a guard's office.
- Inside the guard's office, examine the desk to find the Ghasfarost Key. This key is essential for unlocking further areas.
- Before leaving the third floor, ensure you've explored all accessible areas for any missed items or encounters.
Fourth Floor: Final Ascent and Boss Preparation
The fourth floor leads directly to the fortress's command center and the inevitable confrontation with the boss.
- With the Ghasfarost Key in hand, return to the second floor.
- Locate the locked door on the eastern side of the second floor (it was previously inaccessible). Use the Ghasfarost Key to open it.
- Ascend to the fourth floor.
- Immediately upon reaching the fourth floor, you'll find a chest with a Pineapple Gel.
- Proceed through the linear path. You'll encounter several strong enemies here, so conserve your TP and HP.
- As you approach the final chamber, you'll find a save point. Save your game here! This is your last chance before the boss fight.
- Ensure your party is fully healed, equipped with their best gear, and has a good stock of healing items. Consider setting up your artes for maximum damage or defense depending on your playstyle.
- Enter the large door at the end of the corridor to initiate the boss battle against Zagi.
Boss Strategy: Zagi (Ghasfarost)
Zagi is a recurring antagonist, and this encounter is a significant test of your party's coordination.
- Phase 1: Zagi starts with a relatively straightforward attack pattern, focusing on quick physical strikes and occasional artes like "Cyclone." Keep your distance with ranged characters and use melee characters to pressure him.
- Phase 2 (Around 50% HP): Zagi will begin to use more powerful artes, including "Blastia Bane" and "Lightning Blast." These can inflict significant damage and status effects.
- Focus on interrupting his arte casting with burst damage or specific artes that cause stagger.
- Utilize Over Limit strategically to unleash powerful combos and prevent Zagi from retaliating.
- Keep an eye on your party's HP and use healing artes or items proactively.
- If Zagi uses "Blastia Bane," quickly move your characters away from the affected area to minimize damage.
- Recommended Party Setup: A balanced party with a strong melee attacker (Yuri), a dedicated healer (Estelle), a ranged damage dealer (Rita or Raven), and a versatile support character (Karol or Repede) is ideal.
- Mystic Arte: Be aware that Zagi has a Mystic Arte. If he charges it, try to interrupt him or guard with all characters.
- Reward: Upon defeating Zagi, you will receive the Warrior's Symbol accessory and a significant amount of Gald and EXP.
