Magistrate's Palace

Upon entering the Magistrate's Palace, you'll find yourself in a grand, yet somewhat foreboding, environment. Your primary objective here is to navigate through the palace to confront the Magistrate and retrieve the stolen blastia core. Be prepared for multiple encounters with Imperial Knights and other palace guards.

Ground Floor Exploration

From the entrance, head straight through the main hall. You'll likely trigger a brief cutscene or dialogue as you proceed. Your immediate goal is to reach the upper floors. There are several rooms on the ground floor, some containing valuable items.

  • Main Hall: Proceed forward.
  • West Wing Room (Ground Floor): To the left of the main hall, you can find a chest containing a Life Bottle. This room might also have a save point, so keep an eye out.
  • East Wing Room (Ground Floor): To the right, another room often holds a chest with Apple Gels x2.

After exploring the ground floor, locate the main staircase or elevator that leads to the upper levels. This is typically in the central part of the main hall.

Upper Floors and Item Collection

As you ascend, the layout can become a bit more complex, with multiple corridors and rooms. Imperial Knights will be more frequent here, so ensure your party is well-equipped and healed.

  • First Upper Floor (West Side): Look for a room or alcove that contains a chest with a Panacea Bottle. This is crucial for curing status ailments.
  • First Upper Floor (East Side): Another room on this level often hides a chest with Orange Gel x2. These are vital for maintaining your TP during extended battles.
  • Second Upper Floor (Central Corridor): As you move higher, you might encounter a more challenging group of enemies. After defeating them, check nearby for a chest containing a Specific.
  • Magistrate's Chambers Approach: As you near the Magistrate's Chambers, the path will become more linear. There's often a final save point and a healing point (sometimes a Wonder Chef location) just before the boss fight. utilize these!

Boss Battle: Magistrate's Guard

Before you can confront the Magistrate directly, you'll likely face a powerful Imperial Knight or a group of elite guards. This battle serves as a mini-boss encounter.

  • Recommended Strategy:
    • Focus your attacks on one enemy at a time to reduce their numbers quickly.
    • Utilize Yuri's Azure Edge or Destruction Field for area-of-effect damage if facing multiple foes.
    • Keep your HP and TP high with gels.
    • If the enemy uses elemental attacks, consider equipping accessories that boost resistance to that element.
    • Over Limit can be a game-changer here, allowing for powerful arte chains.
  • Potential Drops: These enemies often drop valuable crafting materials or occasionally a rare accessory.

Confronting the Magistrate

After defeating the guards, proceed into the Magistrate's Chambers. A cutscene will trigger, advancing the story. You will retrieve the blastia core, completing your objective in the palace.

Once the cutscene concludes, you'll automatically exit the Magistrate's Palace and be directed to your next destination. Ensure you've collected all items before initiating the final confrontation, as you won't be able to re-enter this area for a while.
