Bors Ruins
Welcome, Shepherd! The Bors Ruins are a crucial early-game dungeon that will test your party's growing abilities. This guide will walk you through each step, ensuring you uncover all secrets and overcome every challenge.
Navigating the Ruins
Upon entering the Bors Ruins, you'll find yourself in a relatively straightforward initial area. Your primary objective here is to locate the various switches that open the path forward. Keep an eye out for glowing interactable objects.
- Initial Path & First Switch: From the entrance, proceed straight ahead. You'll encounter a few low-level Hellions, primarily Goblins and Orcs. These shouldn't pose much of a threat, but practice your Armatization with Mikleo to quickly dispatch them. The first switch is located on the wall to your right as you move deeper into this first chamber. Activating it will open a door nearby.
- Eastern Corridor & Treasure: Head through the newly opened door. This path will lead you into an eastern corridor. Be prepared for a slightly tougher encounter here, possibly involving a larger Orc or a group of Goblins. After clearing the area, look for a treasure chest tucked away in a small alcove on the north side of this corridor. It contains a Life Bottle, an essential item for reviving fallen allies.
- Second Switch & Western Path: Continue following the corridor until you reach a junction. Take the path leading west. You'll quickly come across the second switch, again on a wall. Activating this switch will unlock the main central door, granting access to the deeper parts of the ruins.
- Central Chamber & Boss Preparation: The central chamber is a larger, more open area. Before proceeding too far, take a moment to heal your party and consider your equipment. There's a Saffron herb hidden behind a crumbling pillar on the southwest side of this room – don't miss it! This area often has a few more Hellions patrolling, so clear them out to gain some extra experience.
Boss Battle: Stone Golem
The Stone Golem awaits in the deepest part of the Bors Ruins, just beyond the central chamber. This is your first significant boss encounter, so come prepared!
- Strategy:
- The Stone Golem is a large, slow-moving enemy with high physical defense.
- Focus your attacks on its elemental weakness: Water. Mikleo's Water-based Artes will be incredibly effective here. Armatize with Mikleo as much as possible to maximize your damage output.
- The Golem has a powerful ground pound attack that can hit multiple party members. Watch for its wind-up animation and try to Guard or Evade when it prepares this move.
- Keep your party spread out to avoid taking too much damage from its area-of-effect attacks.
- Utilize Sorey's martial artes to build up your Blast Gauge quickly, allowing for more Armatization and powerful Mystic Artes.
- Don't be afraid to use Life Bottles if a party member falls, and Apple Gels or Orange Gels to maintain HP and SC.
- Rewards: Defeating the Stone Golem will reward you with significant experience, Gald, and often a valuable piece of equipment like a Stone Golem Core (a crafting material) or a new weapon for Sorey.
Once the Stone Golem is defeated, the path forward will be clear, and you can continue your journey through the Path of the Shepherd!
