Vivia Subterranean Aqueduct

Welcome to the Vivia Subterranean Aqueduct, a crucial early dungeon that introduces several key mechanics and challenges. This guide will help you navigate its watery depths, uncover hidden treasures, and overcome the malevolence within.

Dungeon Overview

The Aqueduct is characterized by its interconnected waterways and multiple levels. Expect to encounter several aquatic and subterranean enemies. Mastery of your Seraphim abilities, particularly Mikleo's water-based attacks, will be vital here.

Walkthrough

  1. Entrance and Initial Exploration:
    • Upon entering, proceed straight down the main path. You'll immediately notice the damp environment and the sound of flowing water.
    • Engage the first few groups of enemies, which typically consist of Ghouls and Water Slimes. Focus on exploiting their elemental weaknesses.
    • Look for a small alcove to your immediate left after the first enemy encounter. Here, you'll find a chest containing a Life Bottle.
  2. Navigating the Lower Levels:
    • Continue along the main corridor until you reach a large open chamber with a central pool.
    • To the right of this chamber, there's a submerged path. Use Sorey's "Map Action" (pressing the designated button, typically Square or X) to reveal a hidden passage.
    • Follow this passage to a lower platform. Here, you'll find a chest containing 150 Gald.
    • Backtrack to the main chamber and take the path leading north.
  3. The Waterwheel Room:
    • You'll arrive in a larger room dominated by a non-functional waterwheel.
    • On the far side of this room, near the base of the waterwheel, there's a sparkling item on the ground. Interact with it to obtain a Panacea Bottle.
    • To activate the waterwheel and open the next path, you'll need to find the control mechanism. Head to the elevated platform on the left side of the room.
    • Defeat the Giant Bat and two Ghouls guarding the mechanism.
    • Interact with the lever to start the waterwheel, which will drain a section of the aqueduct, revealing a new path.
  4. The Drained Section and Hidden Path:
    • Descend into the newly drained area. Be wary of new enemies like Cave Worms that may have appeared.
    • Follow the winding path. Keep an eye out for a small, dark recess on the right wall. This leads to a secret area.
    • In this secret area, you'll find a chest containing a valuable Amber Ring, which boosts Water Resistance.
    • Return to the main drained path and continue forward.
  5. Reaching the Exit:
    • You'll encounter a slightly tougher enemy group here, often including a Greater Ghoul. use Armatization with Mikleo to deal significant Water damage.
    • After defeating the enemies, proceed through the archway ahead.
    • Before exiting, check the small dead-end path to your left for a final chest containing a Verbena.
    • The exit to the Aqueduct is just beyond this point, leading you to the next area of your journey.

Enemy Strategies

  • Ghouls: Weak to Light and Fire. Mikleo's "Aqua Serpent" and Lailah's "Flare Burst" are effective.
  • Water Slimes: Highly resistant to Water, but weak to Fire and Earth. Lailah and Edna will be your primary damage dealers against these.
  • Giant Bats: Susceptible to Wind and Earth. Dezel or Edna's attacks work well.
  • Cave Worms: Weak to Wind and Fire. Use Dezel or Lailah.
  • Greater Ghoul: A stronger variant of the Ghoul. Continue to exploit its weakness to Light and Fire. Consider using a Mystic Arte if the fight becomes challenging.

Important Notes

  • Save Points: There is a save point near the entrance and another before the final section of the Aqueduct. use them frequently.
  • Discovery Points: Keep an eye out for glowing points on the ground, which are Discovery Points. Interacting with them grants experience and sometimes unlocks new Normin.
  • Elemental Armatization: This dungeon is an excellent place to practice Armatization with Mikleo. His water-based attacks are powerful against many of the enemies, and his healing artes can be invaluable.
  • Consumables: Ensure you have a good stock of Life Bottles and Panacea Bottles. The enemies here can inflict status effects like Poison.
