Wingnut & Screwloose

This stage introduces a new enemy type, the Stone Warriors, who are formidable but slow. Focus on isolating and defeating them one by one. You'll also encounter a new environmental hazard: conveyor belts that can either help or hinder your progress.

Stage Walkthrough

The level begins with a series of conveyor belts. Pay attention to their direction. Some will push you forward, others will pull you back. Use them to your advantage to quickly close distances on enemies or create space when needed.

  • First Area: You'll immediately face a mix of Foot Soldiers and a few Stone Warriors. Prioritize taking out the Foot Soldiers first to reduce the overall chaos. Use your special attacks to clear groups of enemies quickly.
  • Conveyor Belt Gauntlet: After the initial skirmish, you'll enter a section with multiple conveyor belts.
    • Secret Room (Pizza): Look for a conveyor belt moving left. Ride it all the way to the left to find a hidden room containing a delicious Pizza to replenish your health.
    • First Challenge: You'll encounter more Foot Soldiers and a few Mousers. The conveyor belts here can make precise platforming tricky. Use jump attacks to maintain control and avoid being pushed into enemies.
  • Second Area: This section features more Stone Warriors. Remember their slow but powerful attacks. Dodge their lunges and counter-attack from behind.
  • Mid-Boss Encounter (Wingnut): Wingnut will appear as a mini-boss.
    • Wingnut's Attacks: He primarily uses a dive-bomb attack and a projectile attack. Stay mobile and use your dash to avoid his dives.
    • Strategy: After he performs a dive, he'll be momentarily vulnerable. Get in a few hits, then prepare to dodge his next attack. use your special attacks when he's grounded for maximum damage.
    • Item Drop: Defeating Wingnut will drop a Large Pizza, which is crucial for topping off your health before the next section.
  • Final Stretch: This area is a mix of all the enemies you've encountered so far, including more Stone Warriors and Foot Soldiers. The conveyor belts are still present, so stay aware of your surroundings.
  • Final Boss Prep: Before the final boss, you'll find a Pizza Box in plain sight. grab it to fully heal and prepare for the upcoming fight.

Boss Battle: Wingnut & Screwloose

This is a tag-team boss fight. You'll face Wingnut and his sidekick, Screwloose.

Wingnut's Attacks:

  • Dive Bomb: Wingnut will fly across the screen and dive down at your position.
  • Projectile Attack: He'll shoot a volley of projectiles from the air.
  • Ground Pound: After a dive, he might perform a small ground pound, creating a shockwave.

Screwloose's Attacks:

  • Charge Attack: Screwloose will charge across the screen in a straight line.
  • Spin Attack: He'll spin in place, creating a small whirlwind that damages anything close.
  • Projectile Barrage: He can also fire a rapid series of small projectiles.

Strategy:

  1. Focus on Wingnut First: Wingnut is generally the more annoying of the two due to his aerial attacks. Try to bait his dive-bomb attacks. After he dives, he'll be vulnerable on the ground for a short period. This is your window to attack.
  2. Manage Screwloose: While focusing on Wingnut, keep an eye on Screwloose. He's faster on the ground and can quickly close distances. Use your dash to avoid his charge attacks.
  3. use Special Attacks: When both bosses are relatively close, unleash your special attacks to hit both of them. This is especially effective if you can catch Wingnut on the ground.
  4. Environmental Awareness: The conveyor belts are still active during this fight. Use them to your advantage to quickly reposition or to put distance between yourself and an attacking boss.
  5. Health Management: There are no health pickups during the boss fight itself, so make sure you're fully healed from the Pizza Box before entering the arena.
  6. Patience is Key: This fight can be challenging due to the constant pressure from two bosses. Don't rush. Wait for openings and prioritize dodging over landing every hit.
