Episode 4: Manhattan Project
Welcome to the bustling streets of Manhattan, where the Foot Clan has taken over the local news studio! This episode is packed with environmental hazards, tricky enemy placements, and a boss fight that will test your aerial combat skills. Keep an eye out for hidden collectibles and make good use of the environment to your advantage.
Stage 1: Channel 6 News Studio Infiltration
Your mission begins outside the Channel 6 News building. Be prepared for an immediate onslaught of Foot Soldiers and Mousers.
- Initial Encounter: As you start, you'll face a mix of regular Foot Soldiers and a few spear-wielding variants. Prioritize taking out the spear users to avoid their long-range attacks.
- Van Ambush: Shortly after, a Foot Clan van will pull up, dropping off more enemies. Use a well-timed special attack to clear the initial wave.
- News Van Chase: You'll then be on the back of a news van. Be mindful of the motorcycles that will try to ram you. Use your jump attacks to knock them off their bikes.
- Studio Entrance: Once inside the studio lobby, you'll encounter a new enemy type: the Foot Clan Robot. These robots are durable and can fire projectiles. Focus your attacks on them one at a time.
- Hidden Item: In the lobby, look for a vending machine on the left side. Destroy it to reveal a Pizza Slice, which restores a small amount of health.
- Control Room Chaos: The next area is the control room, filled with monitors and consoles. Be careful of enemies that will try to push you into the screens, causing minor damage. Use the environment to your advantage by throwing enemies into each other.
- Secret Area: In the control room, notice a stack of boxes in the upper right corner. Destroy them to reveal a hidden passage leading to a small room with a Secret Diary Page collectible.
Stage 2: On-Air Mayhem
The Foot Clan has taken over the broadcast! You'll be fighting through various studio sets.
- Talk Show Set: This area features a large table in the center. Enemies will try to flank you. Use the table as cover or to perform bounce attacks.
- Weather Report Set: Be careful of the rotating weather map in the background; it's purely cosmetic but adds to the chaotic atmosphere. Focus on the enemies, particularly the Foot Clan Gunners who will appear on elevated platforms. Use jump attacks or projectiles to reach them.
- Hidden Item: On the weather report set, destroy the globe prop to find a Small Pizza.
- News Desk Showdown: You'll eventually reach the main news desk. This is a tight space, so be prepared for close-quarters combat. Several elite Foot Soldiers will appear here.
- Elevator Ascent: After clearing the news desk, you'll enter an elevator. Prepare for a brief but intense fight against several Mousers and a couple of Foot Clan Robots as you ascend.
Boss Battle: Bebop (News Anchor Edition)
Bebop has taken over the news anchor's chair and is ready for a fight!
- Phase 1: Ground Assault: Bebop will primarily use charge attacks and ground pounds. His charge attack is telegraphed by a brief wind-up. Dodge out of the way and counter-attack. After a few hits, he'll become temporarily stunned, allowing for a combo.
- Phase 2: Aerial Advantage: Once his health is reduced to about 75%, Bebop will start jumping onto the studio lights and firing projectiles. This is where your aerial combat skills come into play. Use jump attacks to knock him down.
- Environmental Hazards: Be aware of the cameras and studio equipment scattered around the arena. Bebop can sometimes knock them over, creating temporary obstacles. You can also throw enemies into Bebop to deal extra damage.
- Special Attack Window: When Bebop is on the ground and recovering from a charge, that's your prime opportunity to unleash a powerful special attack for significant damage.
- Health Management: There are a couple of Pizza Boxes scattered around the edges of the arena. Save them for when you truly need them, especially during Bebop's aerial phase.
Defeating Bebop will free the Channel 6 News studio and complete Episode 4. Get ready for more action as you continue your pursuit of Shredder!
