Episode 6: Technodrome Takedown
Welcome, Turtles, to the belly of the beast! Episode 6 throws you directly into the Technodrome, Krang and Shredder's mobile fortress. This level is a gauntlet of Foot Clan, Mousers, and advanced robotic threats. Stay sharp, use your surroundings, and prepare for some intense boss encounters.
Initial Assault: Technodrome Entrance
- Starting Area: You'll begin in a metallic corridor. Immediately, you'll face a wave of standard Foot Soldiers and a few purple-clad Foot Clan members who throw shurikens. Prioritize the throwers to avoid ranged damage.
- First Item: Look for a destructible crate on the left side of the screen shortly after the first enemy wave. It often contains a Pizza Slice for health recovery.
- Environmental Hazards: Be mindful of the sparking electrical conduits on the walls. Touching them will stun and damage you. Use them to your advantage by throwing enemies into them for extra damage.
- Mouser Ambush: As you progress, a group of Mousers will scurry out from vents. Use wide-area attacks or jump attacks to deal with them efficiently.
Conveyor Belt Chaos
This section introduces a challenging conveyor belt mechanic. Enemies will spawn from both ends, and the belt itself will push you towards the right.
- Strategy: Stick to the left side of the belt as much as possible to give yourself more reaction time against incoming enemies. Perform aerial combos and dive kicks to knock enemies off the belt or into the electrical hazards.
- Enemy Types: Expect more Foot Soldiers, including those with shields. Use jump attacks or charge attacks to break their guard. Occasionally, a robotic enemy, the Roadkill Rodney, will appear. These robots are tough but vulnerable to throws.
- Secret Item: Towards the end of the conveyor belt, just before the next screen transition, smash the large, green cylindrical container on the upper platform. It often hides a Super Pizza, which restores a significant amount of health.
Technodrome Core Chambers
You'll enter a series of interconnected chambers, each presenting unique challenges.
- Room 1: Laser Grid: This room features a floor covered in a pulsating laser grid. Avoid the red-hot sections as they deal continuous damage. Focus on defeating the Foot Soldiers and Rock Soldiers (large, rock-skinned enemies) while navigating the grid.
- Room 2: Generator Room: Here, you'll encounter several large generators that periodically emit electrical pulses. These pulses damage both you and enemies. Use this to your advantage by luring enemies into the pulse zones. Be careful of the Mega Mousers, larger versions of the standard Mousers that are more durable.
- Collectibles: In the Generator Room, destroy the small control panels along the back wall. One of them will reveal a Secret Diary collectible.
Boss Battle: Bebop & Rocksteady (Round 2)
Bebop and Rocksteady return, and they're tougher than ever in the Technodrome's confines.
- Bebop's Attacks: Bebop will charge at you, perform a ground pound, and occasionally fire his laser gun. His charge can be interrupted with a well-timed jump attack or special move.
- Rocksteady's Attacks: Rocksteady is slower but hits harder. He'll swing his club in wide arcs and can perform a devastating body slam. Keep your distance and attack after he finishes an attack animation.
- Strategy:
- Separate and Conquer: Try to keep them apart. Focus your attacks on one at a time. Bebop is generally faster and easier to hit.
- use the Environment: The arena has several small, destructible crates that can contain Pizza Slices. Use the pillars for cover or to separate the duo.
- Team Attacks: If playing co-op, coordinate your special attacks and team-up moves for maximum damage and crowd control. A well-timed super move can stun both of them, allowing for a flurry of attacks.
- Dodge and Weave: Their attacks are powerful. Master your dodge roll to avoid their charges and slams.
- Reward: Defeating Bebop and Rocksteady will grant you a significant score bonus and clear the path to the final sections of the Technodrome.
Approaching the Core
After the boss fight, you'll proceed through a final set of corridors leading to Krang's lair.
- Final Gauntlet: Expect a mix of all enemy types encountered so far, including Foot Soldiers, Mousers, Roadkill Rodneys, and even a few Stone Warriors (larger, more durable versions of Rock Soldiers).
- Health Pickups: Keep an eye out for hidden Pizza Slices in destructible panels on the walls. You'll need all the health you can get for the upcoming final boss.
- Power-up: Just before the final boss door, there will be a large, glowing Power-Up Orb. Grab it to fully restore your health and gain a temporary attack boost.
