Episode 8: What's a Dimension?

Welcome to Episode 8, "What's a Dimension?", where the Turtles find themselves in a truly bizarre, multi-dimensional landscape. This level is packed with unique environmental hazards and enemies that will test your spatial awareness. Keep your eyes peeled for hidden collectibles and be ready for some unexpected twists!

Initial Area: The Shifting Platforms

You'll start on a series of floating, translucent platforms. The key here is observation. Some platforms will shimmer and disappear after a short delay, while others are stable. Prioritize stable ground when engaging enemies.

  • First Encounter: Immediately, you'll face a mix of basic Foot Soldiers and a few Roadkill Rodneys. Use your special attacks to clear them quickly before the platforms become too sparse.
  • Collectible 1 (Secret Diary): After the first wave of enemies, look for a small, slightly darker platform to the upper right. Jump to it to find a Secret Diary hidden behind a small, glowing crystal.
  • Strategy: Don't linger on any single platform for too long unless it's clearly stable. Use aerial attacks and throws to knock enemies off unstable platforms, saving you health and time.

Mid-Section: The Warp Zone Maze

This section introduces warp portals that transport you to different parts of the maze-like area. It can be disorienting, so pay attention to your surroundings after each warp.

  • Warp Puzzle: The first set of portals requires a specific sequence to proceed.
    1. Enter the Green Portal on the left. This will take you to a small platform with two Foot Clan members.
    2. Defeat them and then enter the Blue Portal that appears. This leads to a larger platform with a few Rock Soldiers.
    3. After defeating the Rock Soldiers, a Red Portal will activate. This is your exit to the next major combat zone.
  • Item (Pizza Box): Before entering the Red Portal, check the far right corner of the Rock Soldier platform. There's a Pizza Box hidden behind a stack of glowing crates, perfect for a health boost.
  • Enemies: Expect more advanced Foot Soldiers, including those with shields, and a few Mousers in this area. Utilize your charge attacks to break through shields.

Final Stretch: Dimension X Gauntlet

The final part of the level is a linear gauntlet filled with Dimension X creatures and environmental hazards. Prepare for intense combat.

  • Electric Floors: Sections of the floor will periodically electrify. Watch for the visual cue (a faint blue glow) before it pulses. Jump or use aerial attacks to stay off the ground during these pulses.
  • Enemies: You'll encounter Stone Warriors and Triceratons here. Stone Warriors are tough and can take a lot of punishment, while Triceratons charge aggressively. Focus on dodging their charges and counter-attacking.
  • Collectible 2 (Crystal Shard): After the first electrified floor section, you'll see a small alcove above you. Use a double jump or a character with good vertical reach (like April or Splinter) to reach it and grab the Crystal Shard.
  • Mini-Boss: Krang's Android Body (Prototype)
    • This mini-boss is a smaller, less powerful version of Krang's iconic android. It primarily uses punch combos and a ground pound attack.
    • Strategy: The Android Body is susceptible to aerial combos and throws. After it performs its ground pound, it's briefly vulnerable. Use this opening to unleash your most powerful attacks. Avoid standing directly in front of it for too long.
    • Reward: Defeating the prototype will drop a large Pizza, fully restoring your health.

Boss Battle: Bebop and Rocksteady (Dimensional Duo)

Bebop and Rocksteady return, but this time they're powered up by dimensional energy, making them faster and more aggressive. They often attack in tandem.

  • Bebop's Attacks: Charges, rapid punches, and a new "Dimensional Warp" where he teleports short distances to flank you.
  • Rocksteady's Attacks: Heavy ground slams, a shotgun blast, and a "Dimensional Stomp" that creates a small shockwave.
  • Strategy:
    1. Separate Them: The most effective strategy is to try and separate them. Focus your attacks on one while keeping an eye on the other. Bebop is generally squishier, so targeting him first can be a good approach.
    2. Dodge and Counter: Both bosses have clear tells for their attacks. Dodge their charges and slams, then immediately counter with a combo.
    3. Use the Environment: The arena has a few scattered crates and barrels. Use these as throwable objects for extra damage or to interrupt their attacks.
    4. Super Attacks: Don't hesitate to use your Super Attacks when both are close together for maximum damage. A well-timed Super can stun one or both, giving you a crucial opening.
    5. Health Management: Keep an eye out for any dropped health items during the fight. Sometimes, destroying parts of the environment or defeating smaller Foot Soldiers (who occasionally warp in) can yield a small Pizza Slice.

Once Bebop and Rocksteady are defeated, Episode 8 concludes, leading you further into the mysteries of Dimension X!
