Shredder's Revenge is packed with nostalgic goodness, and that extends to its unlockable content! Beyond simply completing the story, there are several hidden characters, modes, and cosmetic enhancements to discover. This section will guide you through acquiring every secret the game has to offer.

Unlockable Characters

While the initial roster is fantastic, two iconic characters from the TMNT universe can be added to your playable team, each with their own unique movesets and super attacks.

• Casey Jones: The hockey mask-wearing vigilante is a fan favorite, and unlocking him is straightforward.
  • Requirement: Complete the entire Story Mode once on any difficulty. This means defeating Shredder in Episode 16: Wrath of the Shredder.
  • Strategy: Focus on enjoying the game and progressing through each episode. There are no special conditions or hidden objectives needed during your first playthrough to unlock Casey. Once the credits roll, he'll be available on the character select screen for both Story and Arcade Modes.
  • Playstyle: Casey is a powerful, close-range brawler with excellent crowd control thanks to his sports equipment. Experiment with his golf club and hockey stick attacks!
• Splinter (Younger Version): A surprising and delightful unlock, a younger, more agile Splinter can be added to your roster.
  • Requirement: Achieve a 100% completion rate in Story Mode. This involves completing all episodes, finding all collectibles (Secret Diaries, Disgusting Ooze, Crystal Shards, etc.), and completing all challenges for every episode.
  • Strategy: This is the most time-consuming unlock. After your initial Story Mode completion, go back through each episode.
    • Collectibles: Use the Episode Select menu to track your progress. Look for sparkling objects in the environment. Many are hidden behind destructible elements or require specific actions (e.g., hitting a certain enemy type).
    • Challenges: Each episode has three challenges, often involving specific enemy defeats, not taking damage from certain attacks, or performing specific combos. These are displayed before starting an episode. Pay close attention to these and replay episodes as needed to fulfill them.
  • Playstyle: This younger Splinter offers a faster, more acrobatic fighting style compared to his older self. His unique animations and special moves make him a fresh experience.

Unlockable Modes & Features

Beyond characters, there are additional ways to experience Shredder's Revenge once you've proven your ninja prowess.

• Arcade Mode (Hard Difficulty): For those who truly want to test their skills, a harder version of Arcade Mode becomes available.
  • Requirement: Complete Arcade Mode once on any difficulty.
  • Strategy: Simply play through Arcade Mode from start to finish. There are no continues in Arcade Mode, so practice your chosen character and learn enemy patterns. Once you see the "Game Over" or "Victory" screen after completing the final stage, the Hard difficulty option will be available when selecting Arcade Mode.
  • Reward: Besides bragging rights, completing Hard Arcade Mode often unlocks specific achievements or trophies.
• Character Customization Options (Palettes): Give your favorite turtle or hero a fresh look!
  • Requirement: Level up each individual character. Each character has a progression track that unlocks new color palettes (alternate costumes) at specific level milestones.
  • Strategy: The best way to level up characters is to play through Story Mode and Arcade Mode repeatedly with them. Story Mode offers more experience points due to its length and challenges. Focus on one character at a time to quickly unlock their full set of palettes.
  • Accessing Palettes: Once unlocked, you can change a character's palette on the character select screen by pressing the designated button (usually indicated at the bottom of the screen, e.g., 'X' on Xbox, 'Square' on PlayStation, 'Y' on Switch).
• Secret Ending (True Ending): There's a slightly different ending sequence for those who go the extra mile.
  • Requirement: Defeat Shredder in Story Mode with all characters (including Casey Jones and Young Splinter) at least once.
  • Strategy: This requires multiple playthroughs of the final episode, or even the entire Story Mode, with each character. Ensure you land the final blow on Shredder with each character to guarantee credit.
  • Reward: A slightly extended and more satisfying cinematic sequence after the credits, offering a deeper conclusion to the story.
