Defensive Zone

Activate Zone when your stack is dangerously high and you're close to topping out. The time stop allows you to clear multiple lines safely, bringing your stack down and giving you breathing room. This is a crucial survival tool, especially in faster stages or against aggressive opponents.

Offensive Zone (Score/Garbage)

For maximum points or garbage sent, try to activate Zone when your meter is full and you have a relatively clean stack. Then, meticulously place pieces to clear as many lines as possible within the Zone duration. Aim for 8-line, 10-line, or even 12-line clears (known as 'Perfectris' or 'Dodecatris') for massive bonuses. In Connected Mode, a well-timed offensive Zone can deal huge damage to bosses or overwhelm opponents.

Zone for Perfect Clears

An 'All Clear' (clearing the entire playfield) yields a significant bonus. It's incredibly difficult to achieve during live play, but Zone provides the perfect opportunity. If you can set up an All Clear within Zone, the bonus combined with the Zone clear points will be immense. This requires advanced planning and piece management.

Zone Management in Connected Mode

In the co-op Connected mode, your Zone meter is shared. Coordinate with your teammates. Don't all activate Zone at once unless it's a critical moment. Try to stagger activations to maintain continuous pressure on the boss or to ensure someone always has Zone ready for emergencies.
