Going Rogue & Manhunt Guide
The concept of "Going Rogue" is a core mechanic within The Division Resurgence's Dark Zone, introducing a layer of player-driven conflict and consequence. When an agent chooses to attack other players or interfere with their extraction attempts, they enter a Rogue state. This is visually indicated by a red skull icon above their character, making them a clear target for all other agents in the Dark Zone. The longer an agent remains Rogue, the higher their "Manhunt" level becomes, increasing the bounty on their head. This bounty is a sificant incentive for other players to hunt down and eliminate Rogues, as they can claim the accumulated reward. The Manhunt system is desed to create dynamic encounters and emergent gameplay, forcing players to make strategic decisions about engaging in PvP combat.
For players who choose to go Rogue, the objective is often to disrupt other agents' progress, steal their loot, or simply engage in PvP combat for the thrill of it. However, remaining undetected and avoiding the Manhunt status requires careful planning. Utilizing stealth, flanking maneuvers, and understanding the map layout, such as the alleyways near the DZ South Checkpoint, can help prolong your Rogue status without immediately being overwhelmed. Conversely, for agents who are not Rogue, the appearance of a Manhunt player presents an opportunity to earn rewards and demonstrate their combat prowess. The game provides clear indicators for Manhunt players, allowing non-Rogue agents to make informed decisions about engaging. Successfully taking down a high-level Manhunt player, such as one with a Tier 4 Manhunt status, can yield substantial experience points and Dark Zone currency. It's also important to note that dying as a Rogue agent results in losing a sificant portion of your Dark Zone experience and any contaminated items you were carrying, making the risk of going Rogue a calculated gamble.
