Encumbrance, or carrying capacity, is a critical mechanic. Carrying too much weight will slow you down, reduce your Agility, and eventually prevent you from moving entirely. Your Strength attribute directly influences your maximum carrying capacity. Always prioritize selling excess loot to merchants. Only carry essential items: your best weapon and armor, a few healing/mana potions, and perhaps a repair kit. If you find valuable but heavy items, consider making multiple trips or using a 'teleport' spell/scroll to quickly return to a city. Don't let encumbrance get you killed in a dungeon.
