The world of Daggerfall is immense, featuring thousands of towns, villages, and dungeons spread across two provinces. Travel can be done manually or via fast travel. Manual travel allows for random encounters, which can be a good source of experience and loot, but also carries risks. Fast travel is quicker but consumes in-game time and can still trigger encounters upon arrival. You can purchase horses or even ships to speed up manual travel. Exploration is highly encouraged; discovering new locations adds them to your map and opens up new quest opportunities. Don't be afraid to wander off the beaten path, as hidden shrines, ancient ruins, and unique encounters can be found in the wilderness. The sheer scale of the world is one of Daggerfall's defining features.
