Clothing & Accessories

Enhance your Morrowind character with clothing and accessories. Learn about robes, rings, amulets, and how to enchant them for attribute and skill boosts.

Clothing & Accessories

While armor provides crucial protection in Morrowind, clothing and accessories offer a different kind of utility, focusing on enhancing attributes, skills, and resistances without the heavy penalties often associated with armor. These items are essential for fine-tuning your character's build and adapting to various challenges.

Clothing in Morrowind includes items like shirts, pants, robes, and dresses. Unlike armor, most clothing provides no inherent physical defense but can be enchanted with powerful magical effects. This makes them ideal for spellcasters or characters who rely on magical buffs and resistances.

Types of Clothing:

  • Shirts: Basic upper-body garments.
  • Pants: Lower-body garments.
  • Robes: Often worn by mages, robes can provide sificant Magicka bonuses or resistances.
  • Dresses: Similar to robes in their magical potential.
  • Undergarments: Basic clothing items that can be enchanted.

Accessories:

Accessories are items worn in specific slots that provide passive bonuses or can be enchanted. These are vital for augmenting your character's capabilities.

  • Rings: Can be worn in pairs and are excellent for stacking enchantments, such as attribute fortifies or resistances.
  • Amulets: Worn around the neck, amulets can also be enchanted with powerful effects.
  • Belts: Provide an additional slot for enchantments.
  • Bracers/Gauntlets: While some are considered armor, lighter bracers can function similarly to accessories.

Enchanting Clothing and Accessories

The true power of clothing and accessories lies in their ability to be enchanted. Using an Arcane Enchanter, you can imbue these items with a wide range of effects:

  • Attribute Fortify: Boost your Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, Endurance, Personality, Agility, Speed, or Luck.
  • Skill Fortify: Enhance specific skills like Blade, Destruction, Sneak, or Mercantile.
  • Resistances: Gain protection against Fire, Frost, Shock, Magic, Disease, or Common Disease.
  • Magicka/Health Bonuses: Increase your Magicka pool or health, or even provide regeneration.
  • Utility Effects: Grant abilities like Levitate, Water Walking, or Feather.

Strategic Use:

For mages, robes and amulets enchanted with Fortify Magicka or Magicka Regeneration are essential. For warriors, rings and belts that Fortify Strength or Endurance, or provide Resistances, are invaluable. Stealth characters might favor clothing enchanted with Fortify Agility or Sneak.

Always check the enchantment slots available on items. Some items can hold multiple enchantments, allowing for highly specialized gear. Combining well-chosen clothing and accessories with powerful enchantments can dramatically improve your character's effectiveness in any situation.
