Spells are categorized into distinct schools, each with its own focus and effects. These schools include Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism, and Restoration. Within each school, spells range from basic cantrips to potent master-level incantations. The availability of spells often depends on your character's skill level in the respective school and the vendors you visit.

Spellmaking, unlocked through the Mages Guild, allows for the creation of custom spells by combining effects from different schools.
The effectiveness of spells is influenced by your character's Magicka pool, Intelligence attribute, and the relevant magic skill level. Spells can also be cast more efficiently by reducing their Magicka cost through gear enchantments.
