Characters built around stealth and subterfuge are masters of the unseen, relying on cunning, precision, and misdirection to overcome their challenges. The core skills for such a build are Sneak, which allows for silent movement and evasion; Marksman, for silent ranged takedowns; Light Armor, to maintain agility and speed; Security, for bypassing locked doors and chests; Acrobatics, for enhanced mobility and silent landings; and Speechcraft, for influencing NPCs and avoiding direct confrontation. Vital attributes for a stealth character include Agility, which governs your ability to move silently and dodge attacks, and Speed, for swift repositioning and escape. Races like the Khajiit, with their natural night vision and unarmed bonuses, the Argonians, offering water breathing and disease resistance, or the Wood Elves (Bosmer), with their archery and agility bonuses, are naturally suited for a stealth playstyle. Furthermore, selecting the Thief or The Shadow birthss can provide sificant advantages, such as increased luck or a powerful invisibility effect, further enhancing your ability to operate undetected.
