Equipment & Inventory
Effectively managing your equipment and inventory is fundamental to survival and success in Oblivion. From choosing the right armor and weapons to organizing your carried items, a well-managed inventory can make the difference between a triumphant victory and a frustrating defeat. Understanding weight limits, item types, and storage is crucial.
Your character has a limited carry weight, determined by their Strength attribute and Endurance. Exceeding this limit will slow your movement speed and can eventually cause you to take damage. Therefore, prioritizing what you carry is essential. Regularly visit merchants or your player home to offload excess items.

Inventory Management Tips:
- Prioritize: Carry essential gear, valuable loot, and items needed for current quests.
- Sell Regularly: Visit merchants frequently to sell unwanted items and keep your inventory manageable.
- Use Containers: Store items you don't need immediately in your player home or other safe containers.
- Weight vs. Value: Consider the value-to-weight ratio when deciding what to keep. Small, valuable items are generally more efficient to carry.
- Repair: Weapons and armor degrade with use. Keep repair hammers handy or visit a blacksmith to maintain their effectiveness.
The Arcane University and various other locations offer Arcane Enchanters, allowing you to create your own enchanted items using filled Soul Gems. This is a powerful way to customize your equipment to your specific needs.
