Upon awakening, follow Lyris Titanborn. She will instruct you on basic movement and interaction. Your first task is to find a weapon. Pick up the rusty sword or staff from the ground. You'll then encounter your first enemies, the Daedric Scamps. Practice your basic attacks, blocks, and dodge rolls. Lyris will lead you through several chambers, explaining how to use switches and avoid traps. You'll eventually reach a cell block where you must free other Soul Shriven. Continue following Lyris until you meet the Prophet. He will reveal your true nature as the Vestige and the importance of retrieving your soul. Your ultimate goal in this section is to reach the portal to Tamriel, which requires Lyris to sacrifice herself to open it. Don't worry, she'll be back later in the story. Collect the Skyshard near the portal before leaving for an easy skill point.
