Dragon Priests are ancient, powerful mages who serve the dragons. They are found in various Nordic ruins and are often the final boss of a dungeon. Each Dragon Priest wears a unique mask that grants powerful enchantments, making them highly sought-after foes.
Weaknesses:
- Melee Rush: Many Dragon Priests are vulnerable if you can close the distance quickly and prevent them from casting spells.
- Silence/Stagger: Shouts like 'Unrelenting Force' or 'Disarm' can interrupt their spellcasting.
- Elemental Resistance: Their elemental resistances vary, so adapt your attacks.
Strategy:
- Mages: Use wards to block their spells. Focus on a single element of destruction or summon Atronachs to distract them.
- Warriors: Close the distance quickly. Use power attacks to stagger them and prevent spellcasting. Block their staff attacks.
- Archers/Thieves: Use stealth to get a powerful opening sneak attack. Follow up with rapid arrow fire or poisoned daggers.
- Shouts: 'Slow Time' is incredibly effective. 'Elemental Fury' can boost melee damage.
- Potions: Bring plenty of elemental resistance potions (fire, frost, shock) depending on the priest's primary magic.
Rewards:
Each Dragon Priest drops a unique Dragon Priest Mask, which is a powerful enchanted helmet. Collecting all eight masks (from the base game) allows you to access a hidden mask, Konahrik.
