Disarm

Utilize the Disarm Dragon Shout in Skyrim to make enemies drop their weapons. Neutralize threats and gain a combat advantage against tough foes.

Disarm

The Disarm shout is a tactical Dragon Shout that forces an opponent to drop their weapon, leaving them vulnerable. This shout is incredibly useful in combat, especially against heavily armed foes like bandits, Forsworn, or even dragons, as it can neutralize their primary offensive threat and give you a sificant advantage.

Acquiring the Disarm shout requires finding its Word Walls. The shout is particularly effective when used against enemies who rely heavily on their melee weapons. By disarming them, you can either finish them off with your own weapons or spells, or switch to a more powerful offensive strategy while they are defenseless.

Acquiring the Words of Power

The Disarm shout consists of three words:

  1. Feim: This word is found on a Word Wall within the Nordic ruin of Ironbind Barrow. This dungeon is located in the mountains north of Windhelm and is often guarded by Draugr and a Dragon Priest.
  2. Zii: This word can be found on a Word Wall within the Nordic ruin of Lost Valley Redoubt. This location is west of Morthal and is a stronghold of the Forsworn.
  3. Gron: The final word is located on a Word Wall within the Nordic ruin of Ustengrav. This is a sificant dungeon that plays a role in the 'The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller' quest.

Using Disarm Effectively

The Disarm shout is best used in the following situations:

  • Against Heavily Armed Enemies: Bandits, Forsworn, Draugr warriors, and other melee-focused opponents are prime targets.
  • When Outnumbered: Disarming a few key enemies can break up their coordinated attacks and give you breathing room.
  • To Gain an Advantage: If you're struggling against a powerful melee combatant, disarming them can turn the tide of battle.
  • Against Dragon Cultists: These enemies often wield powerful weapons that can be disarmed.

After disarming an enemy, their weapon will fall to the ground. You can then either pick it up yourself or leave it there while you finish them off. Remember that each word must be unlocked with a Dragon Soul. While it doesn't deal direct damage, Disarm is a potent crowd-control and tactical shout that can save your life in many encounters.
