Armor provides damage reduction, protecting you from enemy attacks. It comes in two main categories: Light Armor and Heavy Armor, each with its own skill tree and benefits. Choosing the right armor type depends on your character build and preferred playstyle.
Armor Types:
- Light Armor: Offers less protection but allows for faster movement and better stealth. Ideal for thieves, assassins, and archers.
- Heavy Armor: Provides maximum protection but is heavier and can impede stealth. Ideal for warriors and tanks.
Material Tiers (from weakest to strongest):
Light Armor: Leather, Elven, Scaled, Glass, Dragonscale.
Heavy Armor: Iron, Steel, Dwarven, Orcish, Ebony, Daedric, Dragonplate.
Unique Armor Sets:
- Nightingale Armor: Light armor set from the Thieves Guild, enhances stealth, one-handed, and frost resistance.
- Ebony Mail: Heavy armor from Boethiah's Daedric quest, poisons nearby enemies and muffles movement.
- Ancient Shrouded Armor: Light armor from the Dark Brotherhood, offers powerful stealth enchantments.
- Ahzidal's Armor Set (Dragonborn DLC): Heavy armor set with unique enchantments that boost fire damage and provide other magical benefits.
Regularly improve your armor at a workbench and enchant it to boost your resistances, health, or other stats.
