This dog, Barbas, is actually a manifestation of Clavicus Vile himself, and he seeks your aid in retrieving a stolen artifact.
Lod will direct you to a cave known as Reachcliff Cave, where Barbas is being held captive. Be prepared for a challenging dungeon filled with hostile creatures and traps. Navigate through the cave, defeat any enemies in your path, and eventually, you will find Barbas. After freeing him, he will reveal his true nature and the quest will officially begin.
