Phases & Attacks:

  • Enhanced Ash Moves: Dark Ash uses amplified versions of Ash's regular moves, including a faster, multi-hitting projectile (236P), a quick teleport (214K), and a powerful anti-air (623P).
  • Unique Neo Max: His signature Neo Max Super Special Move is a full-screen, multi-hit attack that is extremely difficult to avoid without precise timing or invincibility.
  • Aggressive AI: Dark Ash's AI is highly aggressive, often chaining powerful combos and punishing any opening.

Weaknesses & Strategies:

  • Learn the Neo Max Timing: The most crucial aspect is learning to evade his Neo Max. It has a distinct startup animation. Your best options are a well-timed Emergency Roll (HP+HK) or an invincible Super Special Move.
  • Punish Recovery: Dark Ash, despite his power, still has recovery frames on some of his special moves. Look for these small windows to land your combos.
  • Defensive Play: Don't try to out-rush him. Focus on blocking his strings and looking for openings. Use Guard Cancels (Forward + LP + LK or Forward + HP + HK while blocking) to escape pressure.
  • Meter Management: Conserve your Power Gauge for Super Special Moves and Neo Max Super Special Moves. These are your best tools for dealing significant damage and potentially interrupting his attacks.
  • Corner Pressure: If you can corner him, it limits his teleport options and allows for more consistent pressure.

This fight will require multiple attempts. Focus on learning his patterns, especially the Neo Max, and be patient. Don't get frustrated; every attempt teaches you more about his tells and weaknesses. Good luck, King of Fighters!
