Hyrule Castle
Your adventure truly begins within the regal walls of Hyrule Castle, though your initial visit is brief. This section details your first steps inside the castle and what to expect.
Initial Entry and Princess Zelda
Upon entering Hyrule Castle, you'll find yourself in the grand main hall. Proceed straight ahead through the large double doors to reach the throne room. Here, you'll have your first encounter with Princess Zelda. After a short, pivotal cutscene, she will entrust you with a crucial item:
- Zelda's Charm: This protective trinket, given to you by Princess Zelda herself, will automatically revive you once if your health drops to zero. It's a one-time use item, so cherish it!
Following this exchange, Princess Zelda will instruct you to speak with Sahasrahla, the elder of Kakariko Village. Your next destination is therefore outside the castle walls and towards the east.
Exiting the Castle
After receiving Zelda's Charm, backtrack through the throne room and the main hall to exit Hyrule Castle. You'll find yourself back in Hyrule Castle Town. Your path forward lies to the east, towards Kakariko Village.
Important Notes for Future Visits
While your first visit is straightforward, Hyrule Castle will become a more significant location later in the game. Keep the following in mind:
- Guards: For now, the castle guards are friendly and will guide you. Later, their demeanor may change.
- Castle Grounds: The immediate grounds around the castle are part of Hyrule Castle Town. Explore them for rupees, pots, and potential secrets, but save deep exploration for when you have more tools.
- Merges: Remember the unique ability to merge into walls. While not immediately useful inside the castle during this first visit, it will become vital for navigating its complex structure later on.
For now, focus on reaching Kakariko Village as instructed. The fate of Hyrule rests on your journey!
