Sanctuary & Kakariko Village
After your initial encounter with Yuga and the transformation of Seres, you'll find yourself back in your house. It's time to follow the sage's advice and head to the Sanctuary. This section will guide you through the journey to the Sanctuary, the critical events that unfold there, and your subsequent quest to find Sahasrahla near the Eastern Palace.
Journey to the Sanctuary
Your path to the Sanctuary lies to the north of your house. Follow these steps:
- Exit your house: Head south from your bed and exit through the door.
- Head North: From your house, proceed directly north. You'll pass through a small wooded area.
- Cross the Bridge: You'll soon come to a small wooden bridge spanning a river. Cross it.
- Enter the Sanctuary Grounds: Continue north, and you'll arrive at the entrance to the Sanctuary grounds.
Inside the Sanctuary: A Fateful Encounter
Upon entering the Sanctuary, you'll immediately witness a pivotal and shocking cutscene. You arrive just in time to see the villainous sorcerer, Yuga, in the process of transforming Seres, one of the Seven Sages, into a painting. The Captain of the Royal Guard is present but powerless to stop him. This encounter sets the stage for Link's grand adventure.
- Witness Yuga's Magic: Observe as Yuga demonstrates his dark power, trapping Seres within a painting. This is your first direct confrontation with the game's primary antagonist.
- The Captain's Plea: After Yuga departs, the Captain will be distraught. He will instruct you to inform Princess Zelda of these dire events.
- Receive the Lamp: Before you leave, the Captain will provide you with the Lamp. This essential item will allow you to illuminate dark areas and light torches, which will be crucial for navigating upcoming dungeons and secret passages.
Reporting to Princess Zelda
Your immediate objective is to report Yuga's actions to Princess Zelda in Hyrule Castle. The castle is located directly east of the Sanctuary.
- Exit the Sanctuary: Head south from the Sanctuary entrance.
- Head East: Once outside the Sanctuary grounds, turn east. You'll be traversing the Hyrule overworld.
- Enter Hyrule Castle: Continue east until you reach the grand entrance of Hyrule Castle.

En Route to Sahasrahla (Near Eastern Palace)
Sahasrahla is not in Kakariko Village at this point in the story. Princess Zelda will direct you to find him in his house located near the Eastern Palace. The Eastern Palace is situated to the far east of Hyrule Castle.
- Exit Hyrule Castle: Head back out of the castle grounds.
- Head East from the Castle: Continue heading east from Hyrule Castle. You'll pass through various open fields.

Meeting Sahasrahla and the Power Glove
Upon entering Sahasrahla's house, you'll find the wise sage. Speak with him to convey Princess Zelda's message and learn about your next steps.
- Discuss the Sages and Pendants: Sahasrahla will explain the importance of the Pendants of Courage, Wisdom, and Power, and how they are crucial for awakening the Master Sword. He will task you with retrieving these Pendants.
- Receive the Power Glove: To aid you in your quest for the Pendants, Sahasrahla will bestow upon you the Power Glove. This invaluable item allows you to lift small rocks that block paths and conceal secrets. This is a critical upgrade for exploration.
- Your Next Destination: Sahasrahla will point you towards the Eastern Palace as the location of the first Pendant, the Pendant of Courage.
