Lynels are among the toughest non-boss enemies in the game. They are powerful centaur-like creatures with various elemental attacks. There are several strategies:
- Headshots: Shoot a Lynel in the face with an arrow to stun it. While stunned, run up and mount it (A button). You can get several free hits with your strongest weapon while mounted, and weapon durability is not consumed.
- Flurry Rush/Parry: Master dodging and parrying their attacks. Their attacks are predictable once you learn them.
- Stasis+: Use Stasis+ to freeze them briefly, allowing for a headshot.
- Ancient Arrows: A single Ancient Arrow to the face will instantly defeat any Lynel, but they are expensive.
Always save before engaging a Lynel. Practice is key to mastering these encounters.

- Recommended Gear: Strongest weapons, powerful bow, Ancient Arrows (if available).
- Reward: Lynel parts (hooves, guts, horns), powerful Lynel weapons.
