The UI in Breath of the Wild is minimalist but provides all necessary information. Here's what you'll see on screen:
- Top Left: Mini-map, showing your current location and nearby points of interest.
- Top Right: Temperature gauge (important for environmental hazards), time of day, and current weather.
- Bottom Left: Current weapon, shield, and bow equipped.
- Bottom Right: Heart containers (your health), stamina wheel (for running, climbing, swimming), and active rune.
Pressing the '+' button opens your inventory, where you can manage weapons, armor, food, materials, and key items. The '-' button brings up the full map, allowing you to set waypoints and review discovered locations.
