Post-Game Content (DLC)

Congratulations, Champion! Defeating Calamity Ganon is just the beginning of your adventure in Hyrule. The "Expansion Pass" DLC introduces a wealth of new challenges, powerful gear, and a deeper dive into the lore of the Champions. This section will guide you through the most significant post-game content, focusing on "The Champions' Ballad" DLC.

The Champions' Ballad (DLC Pack 2)

Upon loading your save file after defeating Calamity Ganon (or at any point after obtaining all four Divine Beasts), you'll receive a mysterious message from Princess Zelda. This triggers the start of "The Champions' Ballad" questline, a substantial expansion that delves into the past of the four Champions and offers a new, formidable challenge.

Starting the Quest: The One-Hit Obliterator

  1. Return to the Shrine of Resurrection: Fast travel back to the Shrine of Resurrection, the very first location you woke up in.
  2. Activate the Pedestal: A new pedestal will have appeared in the Shrine. Interact with it to receive the One-Hit Obliterator.
  3. The Trial of the One-Hit Obliterator:
    • This powerful weapon reduces your health to a single quarter-heart but allows you to defeat most enemies in one hit. However, any damage you take is instant death.
    • Four new enemy camps will appear on the Great Plateau, marked on your map. You must clear all enemies in each camp using only the One-Hit Obliterator.
    • Strategy: Use stealth, environmental hazards (like explosive barrels), and the terrain to your advantage. Focus on isolating enemies and eliminating them quickly. Remember, one hit from anything, even a Chuchu, will defeat you.
    • Upon clearing all four camps, the One-Hit Obliterator will disappear, and four new shrines will emerge on the Great Plateau.

The Champion's Trials: Honoring the Fallen

After completing the One-Hit Obliterator trial, you'll be tasked with revisiting each of the four Divine Beast regions. In each region, Kass, the Rito minstrel, will provide clues to three new challenges related to the respective Champion. Completing these challenges will unlock a new shrine and reveal a memory of the Champion.

Urbosa's Song (Gerudo Desert)

Kass can be found near the Gerudo Canyon Stable or outside Vah Naboris.

  • Challenge 1: The Serpent's Jaws: Head to the East Barrens. You'll need to defeat a Molduga. The shrine, Kee Dafunia Shrine, will appear.

  • Challenge 3: The Thunder's Roar: Go to the Arbiter's Grounds. Here, you'll face a series of Electric Wizzrobes and other enemies. The shrine, Takama Shiri Shrine, will appear.
  • Reward: Completing all three shrines unlocks the Illusion of Naboris, a rematch against Thunderblight Ganon. Defeating him grants you Urbosa's Fury +, which has a faster cooldown.
Daruk's Song (Eldin Region)

Kass can be found near the Eldin Bridge or outside Vah Rudania.

  • Challenge 1: The Lava's Flow: Head to the Darb Pond. You'll need to navigate a lava-filled area using Magnesis and Cryonis. The shrine, Kamia Omuna Shrine, will appear.
  • Challenge 2: The Fire's Might: Go to the Gut Check Rock. You must complete a challenging combat trial against various fiery enemies. The shrine, Sharo Lun Shrine, will appear.
  • Challenge 3: The Mountain's Roar: Travel to the Darunia Lake. You'll need to defeat a Stone Talus (Igneo). The shrine, Rinu Honika Shrine, will appear.
  • Reward: Completing all three shrines unlocks the Illusion of Rudania, a rematch against Fireblight Ganon. Defeating him grants you Daruk's Protection +, which has a faster cooldown.

The Final Trial: The Divine Beast Tamer's Trial

After completing all four Champion's Trials and defeating their respective Illusions, return to the Shrine of Resurrection. A new, fifth Divine Beast, the Divine Beast Vah Rudania (a smaller, more agile version), will appear. This is the final challenge of "The Champions' Ballad."

  • The Trial: Enter the Divine Beast and prepare for a gauntlet of challenges. This trial is unique in that it features multiple rooms with distinct puzzles and combat encounters, culminating in a final boss fight.
  • Boss: Monk Maz Koshia: This ancient Sheikah Monk is a formidable opponent with multiple phases, utilizing various Sheikah Slate abilities and powerful attacks. Be prepared for a challenging battle that tests all your combat skills.
  • Reward: Upon defeating Monk Maz Koshia, you will be rewarded with the ultimate prize of "The Champions' Ballad": the Master Cycle Zero. This ancient Sheikah motorcycle allows for incredibly fast travel across Hyrule, powered by various materials you can feed into its tank.

Other DLC Content

Beyond "The Champions' Ballad," the Expansion Pass also includes other valuable additions:
