While you can tackle the Divine Beasts in any order, a recommended progression helps with difficulty and story flow. Each Divine Beast requires a specific regional quest to gain access.
Vah Ruta (Zora's Domain) - Recommended First
Quest: Reach Zora's Domain, speak with King Dorephan. You'll need to collect 20 Shock Arrows from the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain. Then, with Prince Sidon, infiltrate Vah Ruta and defeat Waterblight Ganon.
- Location: Lanayru Wetlands, east of Kakariko.
- Key Items: Zora Armor (allows swimming up waterfalls).
- Boss: Waterblight Ganon.
- Reward: Mipha's Grace (full heal + temporary bonus hearts).
Vah Rudania (Death Mountain)
Quest: Travel to Goron City. You'll need Flamebreaker Armor to survive the heat. Work with Yunobo to calm Vah Rudania by launching him from cannons. Then, infiltrate the beast and defeat Fireblight Ganon.
- Location: Eldin region, north of Akkala.
- Key Items: Flamebreaker Armor (purchased in Goron City).
- Boss: Fireblight Ganon.
- Reward: Daruk's Protection (automatic shield against attacks).
Vah Medoh (Rito Village)
Quest: Head to Rito Village in the Tabantha Frontier. Speak with Elder Kaneli. Work with Teba to shoot down Vah Medoh's cannons. Then, infiltrate the beast and defeat Windblight Ganon.
- Location: Tabantha Frontier, northwest of Hyrule Castle.
- Key Items: Warm clothes/elixirs for cold, good bow skills.
- Boss: Windblight Ganon.
- Reward: Revali's Gale (creates an updraft for easy height).
Vah Naboris (Gerudo Desert)
Quest: Journey to Gerudo Town. You'll need to disguise yourself as a woman to enter. Help Riju retrieve the Thunder Helm and then ride with her on a sand seal to disable Vah Naboris's legs. Infiltrate the beast and defeat Thunderblight Ganon.
- Location: Gerudo Desert, southwest of Hyrule Castle.
- Key Items: Gerudo Veil, Top, and Sirwal (for disguise), heat/cold resistance.
- Boss: Thunderblight Ganon.
- Reward: Urbosa's Fury (powerful lightning attack).
