Saving in Majora's Mask works differently than other Zelda titles. You can only create a permanent save by playing the Song of Time to return to the Dawn of the First Day. Owl Statues scattered throughout Termina allow for temporary saves, which are erased once you reload your game. Always remember to play the Song of Time before quitting to ensure your progress is saved permanently, especially after completing a major dungeon or obtaining a critical item.
