Essential Equipment & Upgrades
These items are crucial for progression and significantly enhance Link's capabilities. Prioritize their acquisition!
- Hero's Bow:
- Location: Woodfall Temple.
- Strategy: Obtained after defeating the Mini-Boss, Gekko, on the second floor of the temple. You'll need to navigate the poisonous swamp and solve several puzzles to reach him.
- Bomb Bag (Small):
- Location: Bomb Shop in West Clock Town.
- Strategy: Purchase for 50 Rupees. Available from the First Day.
- Bomb Bag (Big):
- Location: Bomb Shop in West Clock Town.
- Strategy: On the Night of the First Day, save the old woman from Sakon the Thief (the one carrying the Bomb Bag). After successfully defending her, return to the Bomb Shop on the Second Day and purchase the Big Bomb Bag for 90 Rupees.
- Hookshot:
- Location: Pirate's Fortress.
- Strategy: Found inside a chest within the fortress. You'll need to infiltrate the fortress as Zora Link, navigate through the various guard patrols, and solve a series of switches and underwater passages to reach its location.
- Great Fairy's Sword:
- Location: Mountain Village (Great Fairy's Fountain).
- Strategy: Collect all 15 Stray Fairies from Snowhead Temple and return them to the Great Fairy in Mountain Village. She will reward you with this powerful two-handed sword.
Bottles
Bottles are invaluable for carrying potions, milk, and other vital liquids. Don't underestimate their utility!
- Bottle #1:
- Location: Woodfall Temple.
- Strategy: After defeating Odolwa, the boss of Woodfall Temple, the Deku Princess will be trapped in a bottle. Use the bottle to carry her back to the Deku Palace. Upon her safe return, the bottle becomes yours.
- Bottle #2:
- Location: Romani Ranch.
- Strategy: On the First Day, help Romani protect the cows from the "Them." Succeed in her mini-game, and she will reward you with a bottle filled with Chateau Romani.
- Bottle #3:
- Location: Ikana Canyon (Ghost House).
- Strategy: As Link, defeat the four Poe Sisters inside the Ghost House. The final Poe Sister, Amy, will reward you with a bottle.
Wallet Upgrades
Expand your rupee-carrying capacity to afford those expensive masks and items!
- Adult Wallet (200 Rupees):
- Location: Clock Town Bank.
- Strategy: Deposit 200 Rupees into the bank. The banker will reward you with the Adult Wallet.
- Giant Wallet (500 Rupees):
- Location: Clock Town Bank.
- Strategy: Deposit a total of 5000 Rupees into the bank across multiple cycles. The banker will eventually reward you with the Giant Wallet.
Masks (Non-Transformation)
Beyond the core transformation masks, many other masks offer unique abilities or are required for side quests.
- Postman's Hat:
- Location: Post Office in West Clock Town.
- Strategy: Complete the Postman's training mini-game on the Final Day. You must stop the timer exactly at 10 seconds.
- All-Night Mask:
- Location: Curiosity Shop in West Clock Town.
- Strategy: On the Final Night, after 10 PM, the Curiosity Shop will sell this mask for a whopping 500 Rupees. You'll need the Giant Wallet to purchase it.
- Stone Mask:
- Location: Ikana Canyon (Beneath the Stone Tower).
- Strategy: Speak to the invisible soldier, Shiro, near the entrance to Ikana Canyon. Give him a Red Potion to cure his invisibility, and he will give you the Stone Mask as thanks.
