Post-Game Content
Congratulations, hero! You've faced down Majora's Mask and saved Termina from its lunar demise. But the adventure doesn't have to end there. Majora's Mask is renowned for its depth, offering a wealth of secrets, side quests, and collectibles that many players miss on their first playthrough. This section will guide you through maximizing your experience and achieving true 100% completion.
The Bomber's Notebook: Your Unfinished Business
The Bomber's Notebook is your ultimate companion for tracking side quests and character interactions. While you likely completed many entries during your main quest, revisit it now to see what remains. Many events are time-sensitive, requiring you to manipulate the three-day cycle to witness them all. Aim for a full 20/20 entries to truly understand the lives of Termina's inhabitants.
- Strategy: Use the Song of Double Time (playing each note twice) to quickly advance to specific times of day, or the Inverted Song of Time (playing it backwards) to slow down time, giving you more leeway for complex sequences.
- Key Events to Revisit:
- Anju & Kafei Quest: This intricate storyline is often considered the game's most involved side quest. Ensure you've obtained the Couple's Mask and witnessed all the poignant scenes. This involves numerous steps, including delivering the Letter to Kafei, retrieving the Pendant of Memories, and being present for their reunion.
- Postman's Promise: After completing the Anju & Kafei quest, speak to the Postman on the Final Day. He'll finally deliver the letter and then run off, granting you the Postman's Hat.
- Curiosity Shop Owner's Gratitude: If you helped Kafei retrieve the Sun Mask, visit the Curiosity Shop on the Final Day to receive the All-Night Mask.
- Madame Aroma's Reward: After the Anju & Kafei quest, if you return the Special Delivery to Mama to Madame Aroma, she'll reward you with a Bottle.
Mask Collection: The Ultimate Goal
There are 24 masks in Majora's Mask, each with a unique purpose or story. Collecting all of them, especially the optional ones, is a significant undertaking and a true mark of completion. Many masks are tied to specific side quests or mini-games.
- Fierce Deity's Mask: This powerful mask is only obtainable after collecting all 20 other non-transformation masks. On the moon, speak to the four children wearing the boss masks. Give them all your collected masks (except the transformation masks) until only one child remains. He will challenge you to a final battle, and upon victory, he will give you the Fierce Deity's Mask. This mask transforms Link into a towering, sword-wielding warrior, making subsequent boss battles trivial.
- Remaining Optional Masks:
- Blast Mask: Prevent the old lady from being robbed in North Clock Town on the First Night (12 AM - 1 AM).
- Stone Mask: In Ikana Canyon, use the Lens of Truth near the invisible soldier by the river to find him. Give him a Red Potion.
- Don Gero's Mask: As Goron Link, melt the ice in the Goron Shrine to light all the torches. Then, speak to the Goron Elder's son. Next, find the frogs in various locations (Mountain Village, Woodfall Temple, Great Bay Temple, Southern Swamp, Laundry Pool) and conduct them with Don Gero's Mask.
- Kamaro's Mask: In North Clock Town, at night, find Kamaro dancing on a mushroom. Play the Song of Healing for him.
- Captain's Hat: Defeat Captain Keeta in the Ikana Graveyard.
- Giant's Mask: Found inside Stone Tower Temple, essential for the Twinmold boss fight.
- Gibdo Mask: Play the Song of Healing for Pamela's father in Ikana Canyon.
- Garo's Mask: Win the Horseback Archery mini-game at the Milk Road ranch with a perfect score.
- Romani's Mask: Successfully defend Romani Ranch from the aliens on the First Night and help Cremia deliver milk on the Second Night.
- Circus Leader's Mask: As Goron Link, play the Goron Lullaby for Gorman in the Milk Bar.
- Kafei's Mask: Speak to Madame Aroma in the Mayor's Residence on the First Day.
- Couple's Mask: Complete the Anju & Kafei quest.
- Postman's Hat: Complete the Postman's side quest after Anju & Kafei.
- All-Night Mask: Complete the Curiosity Shop Owner's side quest after Anju & Kafei.
Heart Pieces: Maxing Out Your Health
There are 52 Heart Pieces scattered across Termina, each adding a quarter to your heart container. Collecting all of them will give you a full 20 hearts, making you incredibly resilient. Many are rewards for mini-games, exploration, or completing specific side quests.
- Check Your Progress: Use the Bomber's Notebook and your own memory to recall areas you might have overlooked.
- Common Locations to Revisit:
- Mini-Games: Archery ranges (Southern Swamp, East Clock Town), fishing, treasure chest games, racing Gorons, beavers, and Zoras.
- Hidden Areas: Use the Hookshot, Great Fairy's Sword, or various masks to access previously unreachable ledges or caves.
- NPC Rewards: Many NPCs will give you a Heart Piece for completing a small task or simply speaking to them after certain conditions are met.
Bottles: Essential for Survival
There are six Bottles in the game, crucial for carrying potions, milk, fairies, or even Big Poes. While you likely found most during your journey, ensure you have all six.
- Bottle Locations:
- Defeat Odolwa in Woodfall Temple.
- Win the Goron Race.
- Win the Beaver Race (first race).
- Complete the Madame Aroma side quest (after Anju & Kafei).
- Give the Zora Egg to the Marine Research Lab.

Swords and Upgrades: Unleash Your Full Power
Ensure you have the most powerful sword and shield available.
- Razor Sword: Upgrade your Kokiri Sword at the Mountain Smithy for 100 Rupees. It's powerful but breaks after 100 swings.
- Gilded Sword: After obtaining the Razor Sword, win the Goron Race to get the Gold Dust. Bring the Gold Dust and the Razor Sword to the Mountain Smithy. This is the strongest sword in the game and is unbreakable.
- Hero's Shield: Your starting shield.
- Mirror Shield: Found in Stone Tower Temple, essential for reflecting light.
Bank Account: Maxing Out Your Rupees
Deposit all your Rupees into the bank in West Clock Town. The maximum capacity is 5,000 Rupees. Once you deposit 5,000 Rupees, you will receive a Heart Piece from the banker. This is a great way to ensure you don't lose your hard-earned cash when resetting the cycle.
Fairy Fountain Upgrades: Enhance Your Abilities
Each of the five Great Fairies in Termina offers a unique upgrade for Link. Ensure you've rescued all the stray fairies in each dungeon and brought them to their respective fountains.
- Great Fairy of Woodfall: Doubles your Magic Meter.
- Great Fairy of Snowhead: Grants a Spin Attack upgrade (longer range).
- Great Fairy of Great Bay: Doubles your defense.
- Great Fairy of Ikana: Grants the Great Fairy's Sword (unbreakable, powerful).
- Great Fairy of Clock Town: Grants the Great Fairy's Mask (attracts stray fairies).
By diligently pursuing these post-game objectives, you'll not only achieve 100% completion but also gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate world and rich lore of Majora's Mask. Good luck, hero!
