Heart Pieces (Total: 36)

Collecting four Heart Pieces will grant you one additional Heart Container, permanently increasing Link's maximum health. There are 36 Heart Pieces scattered across Hyrule, meaning you can gain an extra 9 Heart Containers!

  • Kokiri Forest:
    • Piece 1: Inside the Lost Woods. From the entrance, go right, left, right, left, straight, left, right. You'll find the Skull Kid. Play Saria's Song for him to receive the Heart Piece.
    • Piece 2: Inside the Lost Woods. As an adult, return to the area where you played for the Skull Kid. Stand on the stump and play the Ocarina to make two more Skull Kids appear. Play the "Song of Storms" for them.
  • Hyrule Field:
    • Piece 3: Under a lone tree near the entrance to Kakariko Village. Plant a Magic Bean here as a child. Return as an adult and ride the bean plant up to the Heart Piece.
    • Piece 4: In the fenced-off area near Lon Lon Ranch. As a child, use a Bomb to blow up the boulder in the corner.
  • Kakariko Village:
    • Piece 5: On the roof of Impa's House. As a child, climb the lookout tower, then jump across to the platform, and then to the roof.
    • Piece 6: In the graveyard. As a child, pull back the grave with flowers in the second row (from the right) to reveal a hole. Fall in and play the Sun's Song to defeat the ReDead, then open the chest.
    • Piece 7: In the graveyard. As an adult, race Dampe's ghost. If you win, he'll give you a Heart Piece. This can be tricky, so practice!
  • Death Mountain Trail:
    • Piece 8: On a ledge above Dodongo's Cavern entrance. As a child, plant a Magic Bean near the entrance. As an adult, ride the bean plant up.
  • Goron City:
    • Piece 9: Light all the torches on the middle level of Goron City using a Deku Stick or Din's Fire. The giant urn will spin, revealing a Heart Piece.
  • Zora's River:
    • Piece 10: Near the waterfall. As a child, plant a Magic Bean on the soft soil patch near the entrance to Zora's Domain. As an adult, ride it up.
    • Piece 11: On a high ledge near the waterfall. As an adult, use the Hookshot to reach it.
    • Piece 12: Play the "Song of Storms" near the frogs on the log to make a Heart Piece appear.
    • Piece 13: After obtaining Piece 12, play various songs for the frogs (Sun's Song, Saria's Song, Epona's Song, Zelda's Lullaby, Song of Time). They will reward you with another Heart Piece.
  • Zora's Domain:
    • Piece 14: Behind the waterfall. Stand on the small platform above the King Zora and play Zelda's Lullaby.
  • Lake Hylia:
    • Piece 15: Fishing Pond. As a child, catch a fish weighing 10 pounds or more.
    • Piece 16: Fishing Pond. As an adult, catch a fish weighing 15 pounds or more.
    • Piece 17: On the small island with the scarecrow. As an adult, play the Scarecrow's Song to make Pierre appear, then Hookshot to him.
    • Piece 18: Inside the Lakeside Laboratory. As an adult, dive to the bottom of the pool using the Iron Boots.
  • Gerudo Valley:
    • Piece 19: On the ledge above the waterfall. As a child, plant a Magic Bean on the soft soil patch. As an adult, ride the bean plant up.
    • Piece 20: On the small island in the middle of the river. As an adult, use the Longshot to cross.
  • Desert Colossus:
    • Piece 21: As a child, plant a Magic Bean in the soft soil near the Spirit Temple entrance. As an adult, ride the bean plant up to the Heart Piece.
  • Lon Lon Ranch:
    • Piece 22: On top of the silo. As a child, enter the stable and pull the crates to reveal a crawlspace.
  • Hyrule Castle Town (Market):
    • Piece 23: Bombchu Bowling Alley. Win the mini-game. This is random, so keep trying!
    • Piece 24: Treasure Chest Game. Win the game by choosing the correct chests. Requires Lens of Truth for easy win.
    • Piece 25: Dog Lady's House. As a child, find her dog, Richard, in the market at night and bring him back to her.
  • Lost Woods (Adult Link):
    • Piece 26: From the Kokiri Forest entrance, go left, then right, then left, then right, then left. You'll find a grotto with a Deku Scrub. Defeat him for the Heart Piece.
  • Sacred Forest Meadow:
    • Piece 27: On a high ledge near the entrance to the Forest Temple. As an adult, use the Hookshot to reach it.
  • Death Mountain Crater:
    • Piece 28: As a child, plant a Magic Bean in the soft soil near the entrance from Death Mountain Trail. As an adult, ride the bean plant up.
    • Piece 29: On a pillar in the middle of the crater. As an adult, use the Hookshot to cross.
  • Gerudo's Fortress:
    • Piece 30: Archery Range. Score 1000 points or more.
    • Piece 31: Archery Range. Score 1500 points or more.
  • Ice Cavern:
    • Piece 32: In the room with the spinning ice blade. Melt the ice block with Blue Fire.
  • Bottom of the Well:
    • Piece 33: In the central room, behind a fake wall. Use the Lens of Truth to find it.
  • Shadow Temple:
    • Piece 34: In the room with the invisible scythe traps. Use the Lens of Truth to navigate and find the chest.
  • Spirit Temple:
    • Piece 35: In the room with the rolling boulders. As a child, use the Boomerang to hit the switch across the gap.
    • Piece 36: In the room with the large statue. As an adult, use the Longshot to reach a hidden platform.

Gold Skulltulas (Total: 100)

There are 100 Gold Skulltulas hidden throughout Hyrule. Each one you defeat will drop a Gold Skulltula Token. Collecting these tokens will earn you valuable rewards from the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village. Remember, some Skulltulas are only accessible as Young Link, others as Adult Link, and some require specific items like the Hookshot, Boomerang, or Magic Beans.

  • Rewards from the House of Skulltula:
    • 10 Tokens: Adult Wallet (holds 200 Rupees)
    • 20 Tokens: Stone of Agony (rumble feature for hidden grottoes)
    • 30 Tokens: Giant's Wallet (holds 500 Rupees)

    • Water Temple: Many are underwater or on high ledges.
    • Shadow Temple: Requires Lens of Truth to find some hidden ones.
    • Spirit Temple: Found in both Young Link and Adult Link sections.

Bottles (Total: 4)

Bottles are invaluable for carrying potions, fairies, milk, or even Big Poes. There are four in total to find.

  • Bottle 1:
    • Location: Kakariko Village.
    • Strategy: As Young Link, talk to the Cucco Lady in the village. She'll ask you to gather her seven lost Cuccos. Find all seven and return them to her pen. She will reward you with an empty bottle.
  • Bottle 2:
    • Location: Lon Lon Ranch.
    • Strategy: As Young Link, learn Epona's Song from Malon. Then, talk to Malon while she's in the stable and show her your Ocarina. Play Epona's Song for her, and she will give you a bottle filled with Lon Lon Milk.
  • Bottle 3:
    • Location: Lake Hylia.
    • Strategy: As Adult Link, go to Lake Hylia. You'll see a message in a bottle floating near the shore. Use your Hookshot to retrieve it. Inside is a letter from Ruto. Take the letter to King Zora in Zora's Domain (he's frozen). Show him the letter, and he'll give you the bottle.
  • Bottle 4:
    • Location: Hyrule Field.
    • Strategy: As Adult Link, you'll need Epona and the Fairy Bow. Ride Epona through Hyrule Field at night. You'll encounter ghostly Big Poes. Shoot them with your bow while on horseback. Collect the Poe's spirit in an empty bottle. Take 10 Big Poes to the Poe Collector in the guardhouse at the entrance to Hyrule Castle Town Market (now a ghost town). He will reward you with the fourth and final bottle.

Masks (Total: 8)

The Happy Mask Shop quest is a side quest that begins as Young Link. Completing it will earn you the Mask of Truth and access to the Goron Mask, Zora Mask, and Gerudo Mask for cosmetic purposes.

  • Keaton Mask:
    • Acquisition: Borrow from the Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule Castle Town Market.
    • Sell To: The guard at the entrance to Death Mountain Trail for 15 Rupees.
  • Skull Mask:
    • Acquisition: Borrow from the Happy Mask Shop after selling the Keaton Mask.
    • Sell To: The Skull Kid in the Lost Woods (where you played Saria's Song) for 10 Rupees.
  • Spooky Mask:
    • Acquisition: Borrow from the Happy Mask Shop after selling the Skull Mask.
    • Sell To: The boy in Kakariko Graveyard during the day for 30 Rupees.
  • Bunny Hood:
    • Acquisition: Borrow from the Happy Mask Shop after selling the Spooky Mask.
    • Sell To: The Running Man in Hyrule Field (he runs all day and night) for 500 Rupees (or more, depending on how long you wait). This completes the trading sequence and earns you the Mask of Truth.
  • Mask of Truth:
    • Acquisition: Received from the Happy Mask Shop owner after completing the Bunny Hood trade. This mask allows you to understand Gossip Stones.
  • Goron Mask:
    • Acquisition: Available to borrow from the Happy Mask Shop after obtaining the Mask of Truth.
    • Purpose: Cosmetic only.
  • Zora Mask:
    • Acquisition: Available to borrow from the Happy Mask Shop after obtaining the Mask of Truth.
    • Purpose: Cosmetic only.
  • Gerudo Mask:

Biggoron's Sword (Optional but Recommended)

This powerful two-handed sword is the strongest in the game, dealing twice the damage of the Master Sword. It requires a lengthy trading sequence as Adult Link.

  1. Pocket Egg: Talk to the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village. She'll give you a Pocket Egg.
  2. Pocket Cucco: Wait for the Pocket Egg to hatch into a Pocket Cucco.
  3. Cojiro: Use the Pocket Cucco to wake up Talon in Lon Lon Ranch. Return the Cucco to the Cucco Lady, and she'll give you Cojiro, a blue Cucco.
  4. Odd Mushroom: Take Cojiro to the Lost Woods. Go right, left, right, left, straight, left. You'll find a man sitting by a tree. Show him Cojiro, and he'll give you an Odd Mushroom. You have 3 minutes to deliver it!
  5. Odd Potion: Immediately take the Odd Mushroom to the old hag in Kakariko Village's Potion Shop (behind the main shop). She'll turn it into an Odd Potion.
  6. Poacher's Saw: Return to the Lost Woods where you found the man. He's gone, but a Kokiri girl is there. She'll give you the Poacher's Saw.
  7. Broken Goron's Sword: Take the Poacher's Saw to Mutoh, the carpenter boss, in Gerudo Valley. He's near the broken bridge. He'll give you the Broken Goron's Sword.
  8. Prescription: Take the Broken Goron's Sword to Biggoron on Death Mountain. He'll give you a Prescription for eye drops.
  9. Eyeball Frog: Take the Prescription to King Zora in Zora's Domain (unfreeze him first with Blue Fire). He'll give you an Eyeball Frog. You have 3 minutes to deliver it!
  10. World's Finest Eye Drops: Immediately take the Eyeball Frog to the Lakeside Laboratory in Lake Hylia. The professor will make the World's Finest Eye Drops. You have 4 minutes to deliver them!
  11. Claim Check: Immediately take the World's Finest Eye Drops back to Biggoron on Death Mountain. He'll give you a Claim Check.
  12. Biggoron's Sword: Wait three in-game days (or play the Sun's Song six times). Return to Biggoron, show him the Claim Check, and he will give you the mighty Biggoron's Sword!

Epona the Horse

Epona is not just a collectible, but a vital mode of transportation for Adult Link, allowing faster travel across Hyrule Field and access to certain areas.

  • Acquisition (Young Link):
    1. Visit Lon Lon Ranch and talk to Malon.
    2. Learn Epona's Song by playing your Ocarina for Malon multiple times.
    3. Practice riding Epona in the corral (pay Ingo 10 Rupees).
  • Acquisition (Adult Link):
    1. Return to Lon Lon Ranch as Adult Link.
    2. Talk to Ingo and pay 10 Rupees to ride.
    3. Play Epona's Song while riding. Epona will come to you.
    4. Ingo will challenge you to a race for 50 Rupees. Win the race.
    5. Ingo will challenge you again, this time for Epona. Win the second race.
    6. Ingo will lock the gate. Jump over the fence on Epona to escape and claim her as your own!

Magic Beans (Total: 10)

Magic Beans are purchased from the Bean Seller next to the Zora's River entrance. You can only buy one per visit, and the price increases with each purchase (10, 20, 30, etc., up to 100 Rupees). Plant them in soft soil patches as Young Link, and they will grow into beanstalks when you return as Adult Link, often leading to Heart Pieces or Skulltulas.

  • Soft Soil Patch Locations:
    1. Kokiri Forest: Near the entrance to the Lost Woods.
    2. Hyrule Castle Market: Near the drawbridge entrance (where the guard sleeps).
    3. Kakariko Village: In the graveyard, near the entrance.
    4. Death Mountain Trail: Near the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern.
    5. Goron City: On the middle level, near the rolling boulder.
    6. Zora's River: Near the entrance to Zora's Domain.
    7. Lake Hylia: Near the Lakeside Laboratory.
    8. Gerudo Valley: On the ledge above the waterfall.
    9. Desert Colossus: Near the entrance to the Spirit Temple.
    10. Death Mountain Crater: Near the entrance from Death Mountain Trail.

Upgrades (Wallets, Quivers, Bomb Bags, Scales, etc.)

These upgrades enhance your carrying capacity or provide new abilities.

  • Wallets:
    • Adult Wallet: Collect 10 Gold Skulltula Tokens. Holds 200 Rupees.
    • Giant's Wallet: Collect 30 Gold Skulltula Tokens. Holds 500 Rupees.
  • Bomb Bags:
    • Big Bomb Bag: After completing Dodongo's Cavern, talk to the Goron in Goron City who was stuck behind the rolling boulder. He'll give it to you. Holds 30 Bombs.
    • Biggest Bomb Bag: Win the Bombchu Bowling Alley mini-game in Hyrule Castle Town Market (Young Link). Holds 40 Bombs.
  • Quivers:
    • Big Quiver: Win the Kakariko Village Archery mini-game (Young Link). Holds 40 Arrows.
    • Biggest Quiver: Win the Gerudo's Fortress Archery mini-game (Adult Link). Score 1500 points. Holds 50 Arrows.
  • Scales:
    • Silver Scale: Win the diving game in Zora's Domain (Young Link). Dive to the bottom of the pool to collect all 5 Rupees within the time limit. Allows you to dive for 6 seconds.
    • Golden Scale: Catch a 15-pound fish in the Lake Hylia Fishing Pond (Adult Link). Allows you to dive for 9 seconds.
  • Deku Stick Capacity:
    • Upgrade 1: Buy from the Deku Scrub in the Lost Woods (Young Link). From Kokiri Forest entrance, go right, left, right, left, straight, left. Defeat him. Holds 20 Deku Sticks.
    • Upgrade 2: Buy from the Deku Scrub in the Lost Woods (Young Link). From Kokiri Forest entrance, go right, left, right, left, straight, right. Defeat him. Holds 30 Deku Sticks.
  • Deku Nut Capacity:
    • Upgrade 1: Buy from the Deku Scrub in the Lost Woods (Young Link). From Kokiri Forest entrance, go right, left, straight, left, straight, left. Defeat him. Holds 30 Deku Nuts.
