Boss: Octogon
The aquatic menace, Octogon, awaits you as the boss of the second dungeon, the Wing Dungeon. This multi-phase battle requires quick reflexes and precise use of your newly acquired items. have a good supply of Potions or Fairies if you're struggling, as Octogon can deal significant damage.
Phase 1: Tentacle Terror
Octogon begins by revealing its eight formidable tentacles. Your primary goal in this phase is to eliminate these appendages to expose its vulnerable core.
- Strategy: Equip your Slingshot with Ember Seeds.
- Action: Octogon will periodically raise one or more tentacles out of the water. As soon as a tentacle appears, quickly fire an Ember Seed at its tip.
- Tip: Each tentacle requires a single hit from an Ember Seed to be defeated. Focus on one tentacle at a time to ensure you don't waste shots.
- Movement: Stay mobile to avoid Octogon's occasional lunges or the splash damage from its tentacles. The arena is small, so be mindful of your positioning.
Phase 2: Eye of the Storm
Once all eight tentacles have been destroyed, Octogon will surface, revealing its large, cycloptic eye. This is your window to deal damage to the boss directly.
- Strategy: Switch your equipped item to the Feather.
- Action: Octogon will move around the arena, attempting to ram you. Your goal is to get behind it.
- Evasion: Use the Feather to jump over Octogon as it charges. This is crucial for avoiding damage and positioning yourself correctly.
- Attack: Once you've successfully jumped over Octogon and are behind it, quickly turn and strike its eye with your Sword.
- Repeat: Octogon will submerge and then resurface, repeating its charge attack. Continue to jump over it and strike its eye with your Sword.
- Warning: Be careful not to get caught in front of Octogon when it's charging, as it will deal considerable damage.
Victory Rewards
Upon defeating Octogon, you will be rewarded with a Heart Container, increasing your maximum health. Additionally, the second Essence of Time, the Winged Tuni, will appear, ready for you to collect and bring you closer to saving Labrynna.
